Ok, chapter 4/6 is coming, but I have another thing to show for Pokemon Day 2024!
I always had an image in mind when working on one of the previous chapters of Pokemon Padded but not really the kind of person to 'make' the image myself. But, browsing about some time ago, I spotted a commission sheet that had a Salandit in it and was like, hey, why not give this guy a try. He obviously knew about making Pokemon, though he was shaky about drawing anything human, and it took a bit, which I was fine with. But, give some people a simple idea and creative freedom (and patience, virtue people)...
...and look what happened! Look at this! Sol and Purple look amazing!
Ever since one of the early chapters, I always liked the image of Sol draped around Purple's neck like a sorta 'living scarf'---as a show he's getting less of a critical introvert by spending his time in a backpack when out and about. I don't know why I took the plunge and tried for a commission, but glad I did.
This awesome piece was made by
SpaceMechanicAzul and I am so happy with how it turned out. I now have a great image of Sol (look at that face ha) and Purple put to art and am so glad got a great person to make it. Also, check that Azul guy out, if this is any indication, he's got some good stuff over there, a lot of humorous stuff that made me laugh a bit. He may not be big league like a lot of artists, but hey, neither am I when it comes to writing, but I'd like to think I'm making something good and I think I get the same vibe when I was commissioning him.
Anyway, thanks SpaceMechanicAzul for making this awesome piece of my characters. Who knows, maybe I'll do more in the future when I have spare funds again. In the meantime, I'll be staring at this for inspiration...

hmm... on second thought, if Pokedex measurements are unreliable as usual (is this supposed to be height on all fours? when partially standing on hind legs? just length?), it doesn't mean anything here lol
...I was going to add something else here, but I forgot what it was... anyway, this does indeed look great, and am looking forward to the next chapter :)

Well, when you look at it from a different perspective, Ash Ketchum is 4'7", which means a Salandit like Sol is nearing half him in height, and Pikachu is about 1'5", a little smaller than Sol, yet could take up a bit more than half if he was wrapped around Ash's neck in the same way...
...in short, it's best just to let anime sizes be suggestive and not the rule heh.
