Are you comfortable with me saying your work reminds me of Van Gogh, in the best possible terms? And I don't use that comparison lightly. -- The expressive brushwork, the thick bold lines, the strong decorative appeal of the whole effect. They feel like cloisonné enamel art.

Verily! Not sure if this one counts as early but my personal favorite is Fritillaries in a Copper Vase from 1887.
That one is a wonderful classic, such a beautiful and underrated flower too <3 I remember seeing some of his works in Thyssen, they have some very early works of his, I remember being amazed by Water Mill at Gennep for example - so much different from his "usual" style, yet so beautiful!
