Craddock is renowned across the lands for his smithing capabilities! His access to extreme temperatures at a moment's notice combined with the precise metalworking he can accomplish with his magically enhanced tail tip can result in uniquely strong and durable protective armor! And it seems the word of his talents has spread to Lucky, who is interested in trading for some armor of his own.
As soon as Craddock saw the body type of his client, he knew he was in for a challenge. As a dragon that often likes to overindulge in the pleasure of food and prey himself, he is well aware that not only is this customer going to need a special fit to adapt to their body, but they will ALSO need armor that can function at a variety of different belly sizes. Craddock knows better than anyone, a dragon doesn't sport a belly like this unless they have a habit of stretching it out greatly on a regular basis.
However...
He is paying very well.
So, nothing left to do but get down to work. Craddock sat Lucky down in his foyer chamber, a wonderful ambience for his client to enjoy while Craddock took measurements. And with every dimension taken, Craddock's mind ran through possible design concepts to fit them. This was going to be a challenge...
But Craddock loves a challenge!
Massive thank you to flippin-rad for drawing this piece, and for reececav27 for including me in his patreon reward from Rad!!
The green dragon Lucky belongs to Reece!
If anyone else is interested in a custom set of armor - anthro or otherwise - Craddock would be happy to make it happen!

Certainly, Craddock is well aware. You came to the right dragon hah!
Hmm, perhaps you could look into using some sort of flexible armor plates at can bend and compress with the size of his stomach. That way his belly can always be perfectly and tightly secure, not only form himself, what for whoever he is holding inside his belly at the time as well. ^^
The way Craddock sees it, once your belly gets large and fat enough, it doesn't need protection. That thick layer of blubber is more than enough to protect you! So no need to compress it, as Craddock himself believes that to be quite uncomfortable! Instead, just focus on protecting the parts that will need it!
And by extension, anyone held inside a belly that well-padded couldn't be better protected!

A good thought! I think you are right, that belly will definitely be protected enough already. Best work on the more sensitives body parts that need it.
omg thank you so much!!!
This was a shorter, simpler one all things considered! But still super glad you enjoy them!! Adding a bit of context to an image is important to me, I love when there's a story behind art!! Whether my own or others!

You're welcome!! yeah, it really makes the whole experience more enjoyable as a whole, and short and simple is not necessarily a bad thing either, it gets the point across ^^
A Stretchy but strong material would work wonders. Perhaps a form of enchantment that allows metals or perhaps Leather to stretch while remaining firm and strong. Perhaps Mithril would work. It is a lighter material but it’s quite strong.
Unfortunately Mithril is a bit above Craddock's pay grade hah, if he got his hands on that stuff, he wouldn't use it on armor or weapons for anyone but himself honestly!
However a mix of leather and metal might be a good call here! Craddock is weighing many possibilities, but will certainly come up with one that gets the job done! He knows he'll find a way!

Ah the classic Draconic situation. If its as Valuable as Mithril. Then nobody else can have it.
More armored dragons running around is never a bad thing: dragons look great in armor! It's nice to see Craddock increasing that number by practicing his chosen craft here!
"But aren't dragons already armored?" some may say. Yes, a dragon's scales do protect them to an extent. But first off, armor always works better in layers. A set of well-forged armor on top of one's scales will certainly protect them better then their scales alone! If nothing else, it's better for armor to take the hits then their scales; that's kind of the point of armor, after all!
Secondly, magically-enhanced armor exists, and opens up numerous possibilities!

My goodness! Thank you so much for your appreciation! And I am also so very glad to see that you agree!
Certainly, Craddock himself is quite proud of his natural toughness! Even among dragons he is remarkably resilient and stubborn! But even he will never turn down the opportunity to don a set of fine armor if he is facing a threat that rivals his own strength. The assistance that such armor provides is unmistakable! And can give him a clear advantage in an otherwise even fight!
And funny that you mention magical armor! Craddock is no enchanter, but at the same time, the armor he creates is not absent of magic. The means by which it was forged via dragon's breath and rare materials that he uses to construct his armor give it some inherently magical properties that allow it to perform better than any mundane set of armor ever could!

It's always good to see Craddock in a good set of armor. Of course, he's also good to look at au naturale, especially when he's full of prey and/or fattened up. But I digress...
Of course, whenever he wears his armor, he gets to advertise his services by showing off his product in a practical manner. And while it may not be truly enchanted, being forged by a dragon who knows some magic makes it much better for the reasons you gave.

Ah! Why thank you so much, again!!
And absolutely! Hard to deny its usefulness after seeing it in action!
