The species Guarians is created by Malevolified
Me and my good friend lilprotoo loved these critters and decide to make a story based on them! I was looking for some inspiration and stumble upon these adorable snakes that belong to Darcain and thought: 'They look a lot like a guarian would so why not?'
Classic Serperior
Egyption Serperior
Dark Serperior
After writing and some BIG help from lilprotoo for helping with the planning, edits AND the thumbnail he gifted me! (You are amazing man!) The story is ready! (Darcain, if you have an issue with this, please reach out to me)
If you have the time, please drop a comment tell me what you think! Criticism is always welcomed! (Word document is available for download)
“...and that concludes our lesson for today. Enjoy your weekend everyone.”
The moment the teacher said those words, the class breaks from its silence as another day in University comes to a close.
You start packing up your belongings, eager to get back home already after a long day, with your peers already thinking the same thing. It's a shame really, you think that no one here is ever in the mood to hang out after class.
‘I still don’t get why we never hang out, there is a shopping centre nearby, we can get pizza or watch a movie,’ you think as you pack away your laptop.
It is such a waste of an opportunity, even though you can’t complain about having time to yourself, it sucks doing all that stuff yourself, it just doesn’t feel equal. Making your way through the University gate and greeting the security staff, you went into the parking lot and got into the car, the hot rays of the sun easily bleeding into your car.
“God it’s hot.”
And unfortunately for you, the aircon in the car is not the best of the best, having the window open will simply have to do. Starting up the car, you set off to drive all the way home, taking the routes with the least traffic to get there as soon as possible.
Although it is tempting to stop by a convenience store to pick up a drink, you are just in the mood to get home as soon as possible — and also considering your wallet condition. After driving for a while you pull up to your home, park your car in the garage, and quickly go inside. Stepping into the living room, you find your two cats lazing about, each resting on the coffee table and the carpet.
“Hey guys, I’m home!” you inform your feline companions, who simply glance at you.
“Meow.”
“Yeah I know, it’s hot as hell.”
With that being said, you tiredly put aside your bag, heading to the kitchen. You quickly pick up your cats’ water bowl, refilling it with cool water — after waiting for a while — and even adding a few ice cubes to the water dish. One of your cats decides to hover close by, inspecting the water bowl as you set it down, poking the transparent cubes with his nose before smacking it with its paw respectively.
“It’s ice… It’ll chill you down” you try to inform the cat, who simply ignores you, still judging the mysterious floating block.
Shrugging at the cat’s antics, you open the fridge, only to see some lemonade juice left in a bottle. Eagerly you take the remaining juice, pull out a nice tall glass from the nearby cupboard, toss in a few ice cubes and pour the lemonade.
Taking the glass with you, you sit on the couch to take a moment to cool off, the scorching heat making it unpleasant to be outside, it’s no wonder why the cats want to stay in. You idly pet the cat resting on the coffee table while taking another sip from the lemonade. Although thinking about it, the plants would need some water.
“Oh right, crap… the plants need to be watered.”
Quickly finishing the lemonade, you get up and head outside, grabbing the hose and turning the tap on you gently spraying the water on the plants, especially the ones that are in dire need of water.
‘I better give them more than usual, this damn heat is drying out all of the moisture,’
Looking around the garden, the yellow grasses prompt you to water the desperate garden in hopes of restoring some greenery to it. Eventually shifting back to the plants, you focus your attention on the ones turning yellow, especially the small ones. You crouch down, watering them, making sure not to disturb the green snake who is currently staring back at you.
…
‘Wait a minute.’
Doing a double take, you turn to see a green snake, sitting in the open between the plants. You yelp in fright, shifting yourself backwards while keeping your sights on the green snake, worrying that it will launch itself and attack, only to squint your eyes as you register the appearance of the snake, realising that the snake may actually just be some kind of toy.
The ‘snake’ actually has a body of rubber, which is notable thanks to the reflection from the sunlight off of its skin, with two ‘leaf-like’ ears sprouting from the top of its head, with a curious collar protrusion by its body. In fact, it looks exactly like a serperior! Except with one curious detail…or lack thereof.
It doesn’t have a face.
‘Maybe the eyes were washed off?’
A possible explanation, but it wouldn’t explain the mint condition of its design and quality, if anything, it looks brand new.
Stepping close to it, you crouch down to get a closer look, wondering where on earth this strange toy came from. Did it get carried by the wind? Did someone throw it over to your yard? Seems like a waste if that’s the case.
“Where did you come from?” you ask the rubber serperior, thinking about taking it inside.
Suddenly, the small rubber serperior tilts its head by itself, its eyeless gaze facing you. At first, you thought it might have been the trick of the heat, but sooner than that it slowly slithers by its own accord, moving towards your ankle.
You gasp in fright and shift your foot away, but the snake simply looks up to you before slithering towards your ankle again. Your whole body tenses as the snake touches it, booping it with its snout.
‘W-what is it…I don’t even…’
The snake then looks up to you, lifting its body, a sense of wonder can be felt when you look into it, does…does it want you to pick it up? At first you outright decide against it since naturally you do not want to get bitten, but thinking and looking at it carefully, you realise there may not be any real consequences, if not at all.
The snake does not have a face, no mouth, which means no fangs. Not only that, it is rather small, not much bigger than your foot. It also seems to be rather gentle and does not seem like it wants to attack you anytime soon. Not to mention it looks so much like that one pokemon…it's so strange yet you can’t help but feel curious.
Your curiosity gets the better of you as you gently set your hand to the small serperior’s height. You watch in tension, seeing it shift closer, its snoot boops against your fingers as if to test them. Eventually, it slithers up your hand, causing you to mildly shudder as it does so, barely making a coil around your arm. It then rests its head upon your arm, watching you as if waiting for what you will do next.
You feel as though everything has just crashed down upon you, this rubber snake is alive through and through, you don’t understand how it is possible for it to be alive, coiling around your arm. You look into its eyeless sight once more, now sensing high intelligence and understanding emitting from the snake, patiently waiting for you.
This comforts you, giving you the courage to inspect. You carefully take your pointer, bringing it towards the serperior’s head, contemplating if you should maybe pet it. The snake reacts, pushing its forehead upon your finger, brushing against it as the tip of its tail rattles, a sense of joy emitting from it.
Seeing this, you happily pet the snake brushing its head with your finger, curiosity and wonder compelling you to walk inside. Turning off the tap, you pet the snake as you wander inside the house, taking the serperior inside away from the harsh temperature outside.
Walking into your bedroom, you place your hand upon your bed, allowing the snake to slither onto it, looking around curiously, slithering around as it inspects the fabric of the bed, quiet squeaking of rubber brushing against the blanket.
The snake slithers under your bed cover, leaving you to ponder and wonder what to make of all of this as the bulge of the sheet moves around. You still cannot fathom how all of this is possible, a living snake made of rubber, a serperior no less. Eventually, the snake pokes its head out, peering at you. Seeing the snake’s small snoot peeking out in such a cute way, how can you resist booping it?
“You really need a boop…boop.”
The snake’s quiet rattle is muffled by the bedsheets, it then climbs onto your arm, coiling around your arm and giving it a gentle squeeze, again expressing its joy with its tail rattling even more. You can hear the groaning of rubber from the snake’s form, making you ponder in thought.
‘Hmm, I wonder.’
A snake that is made of rubber, it sounds like something of a pooltoy. If that’s the case, maybe it would like to float on water? Would a living pooltoy like water? It would make sense considering what they are made for, but then again, sentient pooltoys aren’t supposed to be a thing… Or maybe they are and no one has found one yet…
…
“Would you like to swim?”
The snake tilts its head.
“Hmm, I’m gonna assume that is a yes in curiosity…sort of.”
Taking the snake with you, you make your way into the bathroom. Sitting by the edge of the bathtub you turn the tap on, allowing the water to accumulate enough to make a small pool, perfect for a small snake currently snuggling on your arm. Its head facing toward the water.
Once you are satisfied, you turn off the tap, outstretching your arm towards the water where the snake coils on, prompting it to slither off and into the water. Upon touching the water, the snake starts to emit some squeaks, its body groaning and starting to grow bigger and longer by the seconds. You watch in awe as the snake slithers around, rippling the water, clearly enjoying its swim.
“I never imagined in my life I would see a rubber snake, alive, and happily splashing around in my bathtub. And you can grow bigger too?”
The snake glances upwards, an air of listening giving a hint of its understanding.
“You know, I don’t really get a chance to talk to any of my classmates. I always thought it was stupid that none of them did…but maybe I am at fault as well? I guess I was just like them, waiting for someone to come to me.”
Not long after, the snake climbs to the edge of the bathtub, leaning towards him, prompting you to offer it your hand once again, the cool soft rubber made slippery by the water making a pleasant rub on your arm. A little moment of gentleness soothing you, you can’t help but feel the message coming from the snake.
I am here for you.
You immediately move the snake close to you, rewarding the snake’s effections with even more petting. All of this is so sudden, yet so special…you feel…you feel…
…
*Grumble*
You feel hungry.
‘I should’ve had lunch earlier,’ you mentally scold yourself.
Already deciding what to do next, you open the plug and let the water drain, exiting as you head straight into the kitchen by the living room. Setting the snake on the counter, you take out slices of bread from the bread bin, intending to make a sandwich. You pause in thought, shifting your gaze as a thought comes to mind.
“Say, don’t you want anything to eat? You can understand me, right?”
The snake simply tilts its head, confusion clearly evident in its faceless expression.
“You don’t eat anything, do you? Considering…you know…” you hesitantly say, circling your finger around your own face.
The snake tilts its head to the other side before simply shaking its head, confirming your suspicions.
“Yeah, that seems to be the case huh.”
The snake circles around before resting its head on its coils, waiting for you to make your snack.
You decide to be quick about it and make yourself a sandwich, a simple peanut butter but with a touch of honey to change things up a bit. With the sandwich in one hand and your new serperior friend in the other, you make your way to the couch in the living room. Sitting down, the snake slithers down onto your lap, allowing you to pick up the remote to turn on the TV to find something interesting for you both to watch.
However, because you were fussing over so much on your new rubber reptile, you completely forgot about your cats until they hop onto the couch with you. You immediately tense in worry, shielding the snake with your arms. You are well aware of your cats’ habit of catching bugs and birds, bringing them home to which you had to rescue them from their impending demise, a tiny snake should be no different for them. Considering the material of the serperior, you worry the sharp claws of the cat would easily puncture the poor thing.
“No…please don’t attack it,” you plead with the cats.
Strangely though, instead of attacking the snake immediately like you expect, they simply gaze toward it in silence, before shifting by your side and lie down comfortably.
‘Wait What? I thought they would…’
In fact, to make matters stranger, the snake even leans forward and boops its snoot by the cat's ear, causing one of them to look around in confusion, even looking at you accusingly.
“That was not me, why would you think it's me?!”
“Meow…”
“I…umm…fine.”
The serperior brushes its head against your palm in assurance as if trying to ease your worries. Strange, it's almost as if they don’t see the snake, or do they see it but just don’t seem to care at all? The snake seems to be comfortable around them…
Trusting the snake’s judgement, you decide to scroll through a collection of videos, mainly focusing on the thumbnails, trying to find one that feels most appealing to you.
‘Nah had enough of that stuff…already seen that one…so not interested…what is this weird algorithm?’
Scrolling through aimlessly may not be going to cut it, maybe it's better to think of something specific.
‘...Hmm, I wonder…’
Using the remote, you quickly type in ‘Pokemon serperior’ and click search. What if you show it a video of itself… serperiors as in the pokemon animations? What would it make of that? After being given a selection, you scroll through the list of videos, trying to figure out the best one to watch.
Eventually picking up the serperior’s attention, it looks at the TV screen as you busy scrolling for something to watch, the serperior gazes upon the remote in your hand with interest as a pair of vines emerges from its back, taking it before scrolling through the videos itself. You blink and watch in awe as the serperior seems to already understand the mechanism of the remote, seeking entertainment on the screen. Eventually, it stops to a video showcasing the anime counterpart of itself, hitting the button and causing the video to load and play.
“D-do you know how all of this works?”
The serperior rattles its tail, confirming your thoughts. You watch the video the serperior has chosen, wondering how it will make out from all of this. Does it know it looks exactly like the Pokemon serperior it sees on screen? Does it know who it is? …Surely it does, it seems.
The serperior watches the anime version of itself, now fighting in a combat, challenging the other pokemon. In fact, the snake even starts to try and mimic what the anime counterpart is doing, whipping around its vines, trying to charge up an imaginary energy beam, or even pretending to summon giant vines to attack the opponent.
Needless to say…it was adorable.
“Look at you go, training to be the best serperior in the world huh?”
The serperior responds by raising its chest and puffing out in pride.
“Look forward to seeing the results of your training!” you play along, petting the snake with your finger, continuing to watch more of its new favourite show together.

Before you know it, it is already nighttime and you are in your sleeping clothes with your teeth brushed and clean. You leave your serperior friend in your room who is currently slithering around the bed, searching for the most comfortable spot before coiling itself up, waiting for your return.
Walking back into your room, the only light that remains is the one beside your bed. Carefully climbing it, you lie down on top of the sheets, the night is too warm to bother climbing under them while making sure to not accidentally squish your small friend.
Once you get comfortable, the green serperior wastes no time quietly slithering on top of you, resting its coils on your chest before resting its head by your neck. If anything, it’s like it is trying to snuggle as close to you as possible.
‘How are you so cute?!’ you mentally scream.
Turning off the light beside you, you wish the adorable snake a good night, petting it one last time before going to sleep, its rubber coils never leaving your side.
Right now, at this moment… It looks to be the start of a beautiful friendship.

…
You feel something nudge your cheek.
“Hmmph…”
…
The nudging persists, followed by something brushing against the collar of your shirt, tickling you slightly.
You sigh, as you open your eyes, reaching out to investigate, feeling something soft and thin…making squeaking sounds much like a pooltoy would. Recalling last night, you shift your gaze to find to your relief, your small rubber serperior, nudging you with its snout.
“Morning little guy…what’s up? I admit, I was a bit worried this would turn out to be a dream, glad you are here,” you say to the snake, stroking its body with your finger.
The snake however, summons its rubber vines, gesturing to the open door of your bedroom. You pause for a moment, trying to get the message behind the simple gesture.
“You’re going out?”
The snake nods.
“Will…will you come back?”
Admittedly it is selfish of you, but you are really hoping this is not like a one time thing, having a friend like serperior is the best thing that ever happened in your life. Thankfully, the snake seems to sense your worries, nuzzling your cheek as if to assure you.
“Alright…you go on ahead, I’m gonna sleep a little longer, I am not a morning person…” you groggily say.
The snake nods, slithering to the edge of your bed, a quiet sound of stretching rubber can be heard as the coils of the snake slips away from the bed. You watch as the serperior slithers out of your room, leaving you to catch up on your sleep.
A little extra sleep wouldn’t hurt…
________________________________________
After finally getting enough sleep, you feel motivated enough to finally get yourself out of bed, rising up and switching to your normal home casual clothes, free to do whatever you please now that you have reached another weekend.
The first thing you did is to head into the kitchen, to see the cats coming after you, hopping onto the kitchen counter as they gaze at you expectantly. You quickly check on their food and water dishes, still plenty and ready for them.
But of course, the cats still wait impatiently on the counter, meowing at you with great demand.
“I know I know, you want your cookies.”
Taking out a pack of cat treats that surprisingly works well with your cats (especially the one that doesn’t favour treats as much). Laying out the treats, you watch as one greedily devours them while the other gently savours her time with them. Naturally you had to stop the one from stealing the other’s cookie treats.
“Hey! No, don’t steal! Don’t be a jackass!”
“Meow”
Pushing away the greedy cat to give the gentle one the space she needs, you head towards the couch to find a show to watch, only to find your serperior friend poking at the remote with its snout. Except there is one thing…
It looks so much different now.
Instead of the typical green and yellow colours of the serperior, instead it swapped those colours for the gentle hue of grey and dark blue colours. The Regal patterns of royalty went from yellow to gold, in fact, it even has a similar eye marking, except it looks something akin to that Egyptian style…which looks pretty cool to say honestly.
“Serperior? Is that you?”
The serperior looks up to your call, it has to be your snake. How did this happen?
“Did you change colour?”
Thinking about your serpent friend, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think it can do something like this since you saw it grow and stretch on its demand…now that you think about it, can snakes even change colour? You think they might but…
“I, hold on a second.”
Pulling out your phone, you quickly typed in ‘Can snake change colours?’ and hit search. The response came in quick, saying that there are in fact, a few snakes capable of something like this to camouflage. But then again, your serperior snake is anything but just an ordinary snake.
Content with your findings, you sit on the couch to give the snake its morning pets.
“Yeah, I should have expected something like this, how was your morning buddy? Wanted to show off? I love the new look,” you compliment the snake, brushing against its head to which it rattles its tail in delight.
The snake presses its head against your hand more, demanding more pets. Seeing this, you accept its request, brushing your fingers against its rubber form, emitting silent creaks and groans. Eventually, the snake leans its whole body onto your hand before proceeding to climb up your arm.
“Hey, what’r you up to?” you ask the Egyptian serperior.
Climbing all the way up to your shoulder, you watch from the corner of your eye as it slithers past it, the slippery rubber brushing against your neck. You quickly turn to see the serperior rests its head upon your other shoulder, shifting its coils to shift and coil around your neck. You don’t feel it squeezing, feeling more like a comfortable sleek scarf nestled around your neck.
“Huh, this feels rather comfortable actually. So you’re a scarf now?”
The rattling tail confirms its intentions.
Rewarding the generous snake a small boop on the nose, you reach out for the remote, turning the TV on.
“Now, what shall we watch for today?”

…
After watching a few shows a sense of dread starts crawling on your back. Try as you might, try to ignore it, you try to shake that feeling off as you try to enjoy the show with your snake friend. Sadly though, this isn’t the first time this happened, an ugly truth that you can never run away from…
…and that ugly truth is…
“...God damn it, I gotta do my homework .”
Conceding to the call of responsibilities, you turn the TV off much to your snake’s displeasure, getting up as you head out of the living room. The snake squeezes its coils gently enough to get your attention, still serving as a rubber scarf while its head tilts in confusion.
“Have to do my homework, gotta keep up with my studies.”
The snake responds by gently squeezing your neck, its head rubbing against your cheek, as if begging you to reconsider.
“Sorry, I really can’t. You can stay with me if you like, as long as you promise not to distract me from working.”
The snake slouches in disappointment.
“Aww, don’t be like that, it won’t be long, I promise,” you assure the snake, opening the door to your office.
Stopping by your desk, you pull the chair back and take a seat, sitting down and giving your serperior a nudge to slither onto your arm and the desk. While you boot up your PC and ready up the homework file your serperior curiously slithers around the desk, investigating your belongings. It’s snout boops against almost anything it found interesting; utensils, an empty mug, a game controller, and the desk plant.
“Alright…let’s get this over with…”
The Egyptian serperior watches the screen with interest, watching as you type away on the keyboard, letters forming into words onto the document on the screen. With nothing else to do, the snake slithers over your arm and onto the next, its long body resting upon both of them, it’s not distracting though, used to something worse with your cats’ past mischievous antics getting in the way while you work.
“It won’t be long, serperior, I will finish this as soon as possible.”
________________________________________
Ok…maybe it went a wee bit longer than you initially anticipated.
It turns out, there was other homework that you forgot about which you had to add to the working list, which means more work for you, and less time spent with the serperior.
Needless to say, your snake is not happy about this.
“Ok…so because of this…I need to add this, disprove this because…”
The serperior shifts around, growing restless of this endless cycle of work and no fun. The serperior coils its tail around your wrist by your mouse, shifting its head so its eyeless face sets upon you. Looking down for a brief moment, you can FEEL the puppy eyes' energy emitting from that snake.
“N-no, I need to work, just wait a little longer…please?”
The serperior coils more around your wrist.
“Nooo, I really can’t. I need to work,” you say, trying to be firm.
Unhappy with your continuous defiance against its wishes, it shifts its head higher.
“Noo…”
The serperior’s body starts to squeak louder, its body surging bigger and longer, its head moving closer to you.
“Please don’t do this…just a few more minutes?”
The snake, once it is within range, leans its head upon your cheek and starts to nuzzle.
“Noo man, don’t do this, not the nuzzles…” you try to complain, your resistance breaking by the cute display.
The coil by your wrist grows firmer.
“I can’t though,” you try one last time to deny its request.
The snake shakes its tail, emitting that cute rattle of joy, it knows it has won, it just wants you to give up the pointless act and give it the attention it craves.
“Aww…alright fine, a small break.”
Conceding to the serperior’s demand, you take the upper half and the bottom half of the snake in each hand, exiting the office along with it. The second you exit the office, the snake rattles its tail with utmost joy, quickly slithers up your arm and coils around your neck with glee, startling you with its eagerness.
“Alright alright, jeez I didn’t think you would be this needy!” you exclaim, trying to stifle your laughter as the snake boops nose to nose with you.
Upon sitting down on the couch you can devote your time to the needy snake, the snake starts to stretch and grow, growing bigger than the usual limit, its coils shifting away from your arms and more onto your chest and lap raising it high and proud. As it grows before you, you watch in awe, barely registering the golden vines producing behind its back, you swear the snake is longer than your leg now.
The vines reach out to your hands, wrapping around them as it pulls it around, puppeteering them to its command. The first thing it does? Placing your hands upon its body as it finally stops growing, deciding that it will give you the privilege of holding its vinyl form.
It does not however give you back control of your hands, moving them up and down upon its body on its own wish, the smooth latex squeaking and brushing against the palm of your hand. The snake rattles its tail, enjoying the fruit of its labour.
“Umm, you don’t need to control my hands like that, I could do it myself you know?”
The serperior responds by shifting its head to the side, giving you a sense of a playful pout.
“Oh come on, I had to do it, you know? It didn’t mean to take that long.”
The snake ignores you, continuing to pet itself with your hands along its body, even giving itself a few gentle squeezes as the rubber stretches between your fingers until you release it.
“Aww, you are right to be upset about that. I never wanted to neglect you, I am really sorry about that man. Could you please forgive me?”
To further prove your apology, you lean forward to boop your nose against the snake’s own, catching it by surprise. The effect turns out effective as the snake rests upon your chest, its head nestling beside your neck, its vines still holding your hands but allowing you to move them in your own accord. Of course, its tail rattles with approval, accepting your apology.
You smile at the snake’s playful antics, idly rubbing and squeezing the snake, even moving in a circular pattern and tracing along the snake’s patterns on its body. The vines grip on your hand a little tighter as its head rises up and looks into the ceiling, its tail rattles with blissful approval.
It’s strange, seeing a rubber snake with the appearance of a pokemon, showing up in your garden out of nowhere and now living as a friend and roommate. But the question is, what exactly is it?
“What exactly are you? You look like a serperior except being made of rubber and all but there’s got to be more to this. Where did you come from?”
The snake simply brushes its head against one of your hands that has been slacking off from its work, ignoring your question and demanding your attention instead. You mentally shrug off the thought and go back to your duties, that sort of question can wait.
You can’t help but smile as you place your thumbs on each side of the serperior’s cheeks, rubbing them in a circular motion as it starts to sway left and right rhythmically, its tail slowly rattling, the rubber giving away slightly as it squeaks and groans as you massage the snake.
You and your serperior have all the time in the world.
________________________________________
Yet strangely, time always seems to speed up whenever you have fun.
Before you know it, it is already nighttime, and already you are lying in bed in your pyjamas along with your serperior — still maintaining its size since that petting session.
Not only that, one of your lazy cats even decided to join in, hopping onto the bed, still oblivious to the snake as she lays down by your ankles. The serperior then slithers onto your chest, causing you to feel a bit of weight this time as the coils rest upon you. The serperior curls up with its coils, resting its head upon them as if it is its own pillow.
Seeing that everyone is comfortable and ready for bed, you shift your arm to turn off the light.
*Click*
Just then, you feel the familiar vinyl texture coiling around your wrist, the serperior lazily pulling your hand away from the switch and onto its body, resting it upon its coils. It doesn’t seem to want affection, but more like to show gratitude and comfort during the night.
‘How can this one snake be so caring?’
You never imagined that the snake values this friendship this much in such a short amount of time, it came to your life from out of nowhere and already you feel like you are its best friend. Perhaps, maybe it were looking for someone like you this whole time? Just like you were looking for a friend in class who only keeps to themselves?
You hum by the thought, finding the idea rather precious as you give the snake a gentle scratch of acknowledgement, expressing your own gratitude towards it.
“Good night serperior,” you say to it, as sleep takes hold once more.
________________________________________
The next day comes by swift, as the sun is already high in the sky, the temperature rising harshly. Already you can feel some kind of sweat building up in your forehead, disturbing your restful sleep.
Stirring awake, you notice the lack of weight on both your ankle and your chest. Drifting your eyes open, you find that your snake is nowhere to be seen.
‘Must have gone out already.’
Climbing out of bed, you give a glance at your bedsheets, only to notice a lump underneath the sheets.
‘Did the cat slip underneath while I was asleep?’
Going to the bed, you carefully lift up the sheets and peek underneath, only to find that it is your missing serperior. But once again, instead of seeing that Egyptian theme, this time the serperior decides to go to yet another style. Dark. Completely dark, with just different shadings to help pick up the regal patterns on its body.
‘Maybe it's like choosing a set of clothes for the day for the little guy,’ you hum in thought.
Although it hasn’t moved besides a few occasional tiny shifts, its gaze seems to be facing away from you…is it sleeping? You really have no idea, maybe it is? Can it even sleep? Well, it should be able to ‘rest’ and it can ‘see’ so…maybe?
‘Just don’t think about it and let the noodle get its restful sleep,’ you tell yourself, setting down the bedsheets and going out of the bedroom, deciding to start your day.

“Why is there nothing ooonnnn?” you whine in annoyance, finding absolutely nothing interesting to watch.
You slouch in utter boredom, clicking away as you try to find something, you eventually hear a familiar sound of groaning rubber squeaking not too far from you. Looking to your right by the edge of the living room, you see the dark serperior has finally left your room, observing with its eyeless sight.
Spotting you, the serperior makes its way towards, reaching the couch and slithering up the couch, lying upon your lap. Placing your hand upon the snake’s body you happily greet the lazy snake.
“Morning serperior, feeling lazy today?”
The serperior of course says nothing, piling more of its coils upon your lap.
“Yeah, me too.”
You lean back onto the couch and stare at the TV in boredom, even picking a video at random as it becomes nothing more than white noise. You idly scroll through your phone, checking your messages and updates.
Eventually with a hefty sigh, you toss aside the phone, you’re just not in the mood for anything today, not even a game on your PC, the heat is just making everything too tiring to do.
“Say serperior, I think I will just take a nap, want me to take you to bed?”
Upon hearing this, the dark serperior looks up to you, uncoiling itself while keeping its gaze on you. You watch it curiously as it sets its snout by your shirt, poking it.
“Is that a yes? I- wha? Hey!”
You watch and yelp in surprise when the serperior slips its head under your t-shirt, slithering through as you shudder from the cool gentle rubber brushes your skin. Before you can pull it out, the snake pokes its head through your shirt’s neck hole, its tail rattling as it places its snout by your cheek to give you a comforting nuzzle.
“If you wanted to cuddle you could have said so.”
*Sqqqrrkkk…*
“What are you planning now?”
You watch in confusion as you hear and feel the serperior’s body stretches and grows, its tip of its tail starting to coil around your chest underneath your shirt. You shudder as you feel the coils start to wrap around you, hearing the quiet sounds of squeaky vinyl pressing against your form, the cool soft texture pleasantly contrasting the cruel harsh temperature.
You sigh in bliss as the serperior keeps going, coiling further down as it claims your upper…mid…and lower chest, your shirt’s fabric distorting as it does so. But the serperior is far from done.
*Psshhh…*
A quiet intake of air can be heard as the serperior takes a bigger form, the coils growing snug against your body while your shirt threatens to tear from the straining of the coils.
“Serp…I don’t know…”
You don’t know what to say, it feels so strangely comfortable, you can feel serperior’s honest efforts to snuggle you unlike ever before, leaving you in a bit of a bind. You try to reach up with your arms, but the coils are making it difficult to move, forcing you to keep them by your side, feeling your shirt’s fabric and the coils buried within.
The serperior’s head is now half the size of your head, it touches your nose to nose before gently nudging you to the side, causing you to topple and lie on the couch as the rubber squeaks from the impact.
*...Squeak!*
But instead of the soft fabric of your couch, you feel as though your body is lying on an air mattress of sorts, perhaps an air sleeping bag. It is hard to describe it, but it still feels amazingly comfy, especially when the coils are so perfectly cool, with no sense of warming up or any hot air. Your high body temperature is being sapped away into the serperior’s coils, bringing it down to a much more desirable state. You see the serperior look down upon you, you look up to it, only to blink in surprise at the turn of events.
It then shifts its head to the side, nuzzling your cheek one more time before it slithers its head to the other side of your head, covering your eyes with its black coil, and blocking out all the light much like a sleep mask.
“You could’ve waited until we were in bed, serperior.”
A quiet rattle of its tail was your only response.
“Alright fine, we can nap here…I can’t believe you would do something like this.”
The serperior’s coils then start to softly squeeze rhythmically, starting from the top coil, all the way down to the last coil, massaging your skin, the coils’ grasp feels strong yet gentle, something only a snake is capable of, and strangely it’s encouraging you to sleep. Something about being embraced in such a strange yet affectionate manner brings you great comfort, knowing that you are in good hands…coils…whatever it may be.
As the coils press snugly into your body, you gradually remove all your tensions, the coolness of it shielding you from the heat of the sun, you find yourself falling into a much better state of sleep, a moment of peace…if only you had asked something like this when you first met.
“I never thought your coils could be so…*yawn*...comfy.”
With the dark coil blocking your eyes and feeling very snug, you fall asleep, serperior continuously squeezes your body into its blissful rest.

You lost your sense of time for how long you were napping, the only thing bringing you back from the state of consciousness is the constant pecking onto your face by something tiny.
Taking a deep breath you stretch your arms and legs, not feeling restrained anymore, quickly realising that you are no longer within the serperior's coils. You open your eyes to find the black rubber snake resting on your chest, watching you as if patiently waiting for you to wake up, its vines inches away from your face as it gives another gentle poke.
“Jeez Serp, how are your coils so damn comfortable? I’ve never slept like this before!”
The serperior lifts its upper body, its tail rattles, emitting pride. Although you notice that the room is rather dark, you are certain you left the blinds open…
“Wait, what’s the time?!”
You lean up from the couch to peer through the window, to find to your utter disbelief, the sun is setting in the horizon soon. You shift your gaze to your snake, still beaming with pride.
“You…how…how long was I in your coils? What are your coils made of??”
Serperior then takes its vines, wrapping around its ‘chest’ around giving itself a squeezing hug.
*Squueeeaaak!*
“I know you are made of rubber…but there is no way it is that comfortable!”
Serperior then moves its arms to its side, mimicking its arms as it puffs its chest in certainty. Preaching that its rubber coils are the finest there is.
“Dang, talk about inflated ego huh? Literally!” you laugh at your pun, to which the serperior falls onto its back, taken so much aback by such insult.
“Well, since it is late, I might as well take a walk on the street, you are welcome to come with me. I don’t know for certain if people can see you but your black colour should let you blend with the night easily. What do you say?”
The snake rises up again, its tail quietly rattles with agreement.
“Great! Just need to put on a more fitting jogging clothes…and um…”
You pause as you look at your shirt, now bagging due to the excessive stretching.
“I might need to find a shirt to replace this.”
The snake droops its head, realising its mistake.

Stepping out of your room, you find your snake waiting by the couch, eagerly waiting for your return. Outstretching your hand, allowing the small black snake to slither onto your hand, climbing up your arm before resting on your shoulders, acting like a scarf.
“Alrightio, let’s do a small stroll, and after that we just…go to bed I guess,” you say, stepping outside the front door.
The serperior tightens its coils, as if giving a suggestion.
“Yes, we can do the coil thing again. Is it like your way of both hugging and snuggling… huggling?”
You then feel a brush on your cheek.
“You are one needy snake,” you say, locking the gate and then stepping onto the sidewalk, going along your usual route.
Throughout the walk, you watch the black serperior with interest, seeing it shift around its gaze, aimlessly gazing at the different objects you pass by. Interested in the planted trees, the streetlight, the parked car, and a cat with a collar chilling by its owner’s porch, not caring about you or the snake.
The serperior slithers and rests its read on top of yours, seemingly enjoying hitchhiking on your shoulders. Though to be honest, there isn’t really much to see in the neighbourhood, but the journey with a friend feels nice for a change of pace.
Walking back home, you open the door, closing the door behind and locking it, stepping into the living room.
“Say serperior you wanna do something before we- wait what the hell?!”
At first, you thought you had burglars in your house, only to realise they are instead, two big serperiors, their bodies rising high and butting heads against each other. Not only are they made up of rubber and are faceless much like your serperior, but they also have very familiar colour schemes. The classic green and the Egyptian style.
*Sqqueeeak! Squueeak! Squeeeaakkk!*
The two intruding snakes seem to be wrestling each other aggressively, they are pretty mad at each other. You just simply stand there, lost as to what is even going on right now. The two serperiors shift their gaze onto you, or rather…the serperior on top of your head, making squeaking sounds to it, to which your serperior responds as well.
*Squeeaakk! Squeak squeak! Sqqrrk… SQUEEAAKK!!*
Now…you aren’t an expert in this rubber snake talk…but it DOES sound like they are pretty angry.
Your black serperior, launches off your shoulder, charging to the two serperiors, its body rapidly stretches and grows, squeaking aloud as it matches their height, butting heads and wrestling each other.
You watch as you try to make sense of it all, the three snakes producing vines from their back as they try to shove away the others. You don’t understand, why are there two…three serperiors in your house now? They all share the same traits save for different colours but, snakes can change colours can’t they? Why are they fighting?
A thought then crosses your mind…
‘What if they never change colours? But if that’s the case, this could mean-!’
These serperiors are all the snakes you have met over the past few days, they just happen to come to you one at a time. You’ve mistaken each snake to be the same one, none the wiser of they are each a different serperior entirely.
The snakes continue to fight, their rubber forms squeaking as they continue to bash away. You need to put a stop to this!
“W-wait wait wait! STOP!” you yell, rushing in between the snakes as you separate them, your voice and presence enough to put their fight to a screeching halt.
They all set their eyeless gaze upon you, baffled that you are trying to put an end to their squabble.
“It was my fault! I am responsible for this confusion!” you quickly declare, the serperiors tilting their head in surprise and confusion.
“Each of you had been visiting me one at a time for the past few days, I just happen to think all three of you were the same serperior and that you just changed colours.” The snakes glance at each other, considering your words.
“It just…seems so unlikely to see a living rubber snake like you guys, it just made more sense to me to think you just changed colours instead of being a different one altogether. It never crossed my mind that this would be the case.”
You reach out and give each serperior an assuring rub on each of their upper chests to calm them down, hopefully putting them more at ease.
“I’m so sorry about this, I didn’t mean to make any of you feel hurt or like I am replacing you or anything like that, I adore every single one of you. Meeting you guys was the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
You take a step back, the serperior’s keeping their gaze upon you.
“Could we please try and start this again without fighting?” you say, ready to step in again in case the snakes break into another fight.
The serperiors remain motionless, giving each other silent glances, an invisible communication between the three that you cannot grasp or interpret. After what feels like a painstaking hour, the serperiors suddenly start to hiss, shrinking down to their small tiny size.
You watch in hope as they slither closer to you, looking up to you. They all give their little rattle with their tails, forgiving you for your mishap. Sighing with relief, you quickly get onto your knees, smiling at their adorable rattling.
“Thank you all, I won’t forget this. Come here, all of you!”
You present your hands to the snakes as they all quickly slither upon them and up your arms, coiling around your shoulders as they bombard you with affectionate nuzzles. You giggle at their adorable antics, petting them but struggling to keep up.
“Guys! Come on, hahaha! You gotta give me-AH! TOO CUTE! Please stop!” you shout your plea, giggling mad as the snakes continue their nuzzling assault.
Your home has just gotten a lot more lively.
________________________________________
After the endless affectionate nuzzling and petting session, you walk into your room, setting the three serperiors onto your bed. The green one has its upper body raised high, the egypt one lying down and the black one coiling into a ball, all of them looking at you expectantly.
“Alright, I am going to switch to my sleeping clothes, you guys get comfortable and we will get to bed and start tomorrow fresh. Sounds good?” you ask, opening your wardrobe and pulling out a fresh set of pyjamas.
They remain motionless but otherwise do not seem to complain, in fact, the green and egypt one seem to be watching the black one intently, almost as if they are talking. Taking the opportunity you slip into the bathroom and change your clothes.
Switching into your pyjamas, you quickly turn on the tap and brush your teeth. While you are busy, you could have sworn you heard a distant sound of squeaking rubber in your room.
‘Wonder what those guys are talking about? I should try to give them each a name. I could ask them about it tomorrow,’ you mentally decide, spitting out the toothpaste before rinsing.
Putting away the toothbrush, you head to your bedroom, the door wide open as you see yet another surprise waiting for you.
“...Guys?”
You find that there are large giant rubber coils all over your room, every inch of your floor is covered in a sea of green, navy dark and black coils of the serperiors. You look up to see your snakes looking back at you, waiting intently.
Before you can ask, you watch as they bring out their vines, reaching out to you as they wrap around your limbs. They lift you into the air with ease, bringing you into your room, hovering above what seems like a bottomless sea of coils.
“Are…did Black tell…”
Before you can say anything, they already start setting you down into their scrambled coils, lying you down…your body starts to sink into their coils, entangling you within their grasp. You give a soft, surprised yelp as you sink like you are in rubber beanbags, any movement only serves to sink you faster.
Though this doesn't do much to trouble you, letting them do their act as if you know the serperiors well enough to give them trust.
The coils of the serperiors shift and move, brushing along your body as they slither over your chest, your upper body becoming lost within their coils. You feel as though you are being against two air mattresses, moving around and squeezing your form.
Speechless, you watch as the three serperiors shift around, the whole room squeaking as rubber brushes against each other as if someone is squeezing balloons together.
*Sqqrrrrrrkk…squueeaakk…*
It is oddly pleasant to see and feel, seeing the coils around the room shift around, making the entire room feel alive and under the serperiors’ control. You watch as green coil shifts upon your upper chest, before a navy coil lifts your head up slightly, the three serperiors shifting over as they make their way toward you.
They set their heads beside your own, imitating a nest of rubber coils as they snuggle together with you closely, tucking you and themselves into bed as they share their coils, serving as blankets for all four of you.
You feel a bit flustered and warm with the affectionate snuggles the serperiors’ have set, their rubber coils keeping you snug while banishing all the uncomfortable hot air plaguing your sleep. A perfect position to sleep in.
You want to pet them, but your limbs are all buried underneath the serperiors’ endless coils, too heavy to even move but nothing sort of uncomfortable. It might be for the best anyway, you don’t want to disrupt this setup anyway.
“Night everyone,” you quietly say to the snakes, each of them giving their quiet rattle to return the gesture, joining you in the land of sleep as you all wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
You aren’t sure what will happen from now on, but one thing is certain, you have accomplished your wish from the start, having new friends to spend time with.
Perhaps they too, fulfilled their wish to find somewhere to belong…
The end.

________________________________________
________________________________________
The end.
