Light the Dragon - Commission
Unfortunately, my experiments, my work and certain other obligations do not allow me to leave the Manor. As a result, I have to call on other people - sometimes mortal, I'm afraid, but more usually immortal - to carry out certain tasks that are impossible for me.
For these tasks, I regularly need ingredients from outside the Manor. After all, I can't have everything on site. Ingredients or artefacts, of course, that can vary. Information from the outside world can also be very useful. Oh, geopolitical upheavals are of no use to me, but what could pass for 'creepy pasta', legends, myths, interactions with creatures out of the ordinary - these can turn out to be full of surprises.
In short,
light-the-dragon was the perfect change-maker to carry out these tasks, which are nonetheless necessary for the smooth running of my laboratory.
As luck would have it, we have a dragon changeling for Chinese New Year.

This is a lovely compliment, but the only person to compliment is Light himself, who has this precious ability.
I wonder on the ability what evolution gene or dare I say magic makes a creature able to shift form of flesh make and remove bone increase or decrease mass... I wonder

The evolution of things, even magical ones, has led to the same result, the change of form with the addition or removal of matter, by different means. Just as the evolution of certain species has led to the same physical characteristics, even though they're not from the same family.
This ability to change form with magically 'borrowed' matter can be compensated for in various ways, one of the most common being insatiable hunger, the result of an expenditure of energy that must be satisfied as quickly as possible. There are others, some simply drawing on the arcane to balance this gain or loss of matter, like putting on or taking off a suit kept in a wardrobe.
As far as Light is concerned, I can not answer for him. Perhaps he can answer for you.

I am going to be honest, I don't even know myself...
It all started with an encounter with
Zekas, when I transformed for the first time. Later he told me that he thinks it's a genetic/hereditary thing, and that he only needed to "awaken" it in me. Like the gene was dormant or undiscovered, and nobody else in my or his relatives know they even have such a dormant ability, or maybe the gene is just not strong enough to be used, like a remnant.
As for the shapeshifting itself, it is a bit ignorant of the laws of physics and matter with the mass increase and decrease. I don't know how I am able to even do those supernatural things. But, it's not without a cost. These transformations exhaust me! It is not rare for me to rest after a few hours of staying in a form. My "god" form (It is not an actual deity that I become, but the power it has might be comparable to one.) is the most extreme example. It's very, insanely strong, but after a few hours in it, I am forced to go back to my human form, and go under a coma that can last an entire day.
As for the aura around myself, I guess it's some sort of energy? It sort of just happens when I use my shapeshifting abilities, I can't explain it, but it gives it a little flair for sure!
So, short summary, I do not know myself although I have theories, and despite it's supernatural properties, it does take a real toll on my body. I'm constantly training it like a muscle to make sure I can take on more forms, and for longer :)
