My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the prompt was the phrase "unerring disembarkation".
As normal, please be sure to check ThursdayPrompt for more.
Sort of works? I might have missed the mark with the "unerring" part... and I don't know if it really counts as "disembarkation" in this case either... Oh well, I suppose, it was fun to write up at least.

Awesome story! I hope whomever found her is there to help and not eat her lol. I feel you got the prompt, through some creative technicalities lol.
I'm grateful you'd say so. Don't worry too much about Zera, she's use to to making friends intent on eating her. Also, technicalities or not, I appreciate you approving of my use of the prompt this week, thank you for that.
I'm grateful you'd read over this one, thanks much for that.

*laughs... and I'm seeing good old Wirewolf looking at her on the beech and then taking her back to his hut...
good story ftd and nice to see you ranging out more and more...

Well, somebody's got to take care of her after that ordeal... and show her that the ocean isn't so bad despite what lives within it.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look over this one, always appreciated.

It was fun to read! When she drank that sea water I could feel uncomfortable sensation in my own mouth and throat. >.< And I liked the way you described all the environment and so on, it made me feel immersed. And the premise was interesting.
Also, in my opinion it fits the prompt. It's so specific that making it 100% like the prompt is kinda impossible, lol. You did it definitely well enough. ^^

I'm glad to hear you thought it went well and it's a thrill to hear you managed to get immersed in it as well. I also appreciate your approval of my interpretation of the prompt, thanks much.

I'd say the Prompt is hard enough that you can get away with taking some liberties. ""Unerring" implies that everything goes smoothly and its hard to have a story with no conflict.
I love boats and the beauty of the ocean. But I don't like being that far away from the safety of land, for reasons Zera has found out. I've suffered a mouth full of saltwater on more than one occasion.

It was either this or a disembarkation from an exploding space craft, escape pods optional. But I do think this one at least was more interesting than if the raft had just drifted to shore.
I agree that the ocean is beautiful though I also agree that what lurks beneath the surface can be a bit daunting. Just the thought of the sheer size of some fish, harmless ones even, is a bit intimidating.
Thanks much for taking the time to read through this one, greatly appreciate it.

Maybe her adventure is only beginning? ;)
"Carefully, the agitated fox rose to her feet while pulling free the small and ***well-used*** firearm"
That's somewhat concerning!

Is there any other way to start an adventure across an unexplored world?
Don't worry, Zera wasn't trusted with the revolver until she passed gun safety 101... now does she employ what she's learned, well that's another story.

Good point, and I'm more concerned about the well-used part! This is the second story of yours featuring sailing, is it something you do yourself?
My mind had completely blanked for a minute there; I had entirely forgotten my last sailing adventure story!
I'm afraid I'm a total land lubber; I don't know the first thing about actually sailing. Though I do know how to paddle a kayak, if that counts.

heh I see, and it certainly does, it's more than I can do! ;)
That was really fun. Zera needs to be more careful... but then again that would make this less exciting. Hopefully whoever finds her is a bit more of a friend though. Or at least someone who isn't going to try and eat her.
She really does need to take more care not to put herself in such situations. On the bright side: she's use to making friends intent on eating her so it won't be that big of a surprise when she wakes up if that's the kind of friend that found her.
I really appreciate that you'd take the time to look over this one, thank you very much.
