Goodness, it has been a while, hasn't it? I've been around and been playing, but haven't really had the motivation to post for a while. We'll see how it goes for now.

This was a fun one. I was contacted out of the blue by a local composer who wanted to get some recordings of his pieces - I'd never met him, but someone else had recommended me, which is a great feeling. He put together a full big band, and we did a full-on recording session at a studio. This was a one-off group that had never played together before, but we came in, ran through it once, then hit record. It was a real pleasure to play with a bunch of musicians who can sound this tight right off the bat.

Back to the Shed (Rob Walker) is a fun big band chart with Latin and swing sections. Some great sax solos in this one.
