Aeria and I were discussing Nico's life after his kids were born but before he settled down with Buck and decided that he and Aeria may have had a bit of a fling...and Hermes happened. He's probably three years younger than Nico's five kids from King.

Aeria often pays men per hour to model for him so that he can paint them and Nico, being unemployed, takes him up on that offer to model for him a few times, which ends up in them...getting to know each other a bit closer on several occasions. While they never had any sort of "relationship", there was probably a friendship that built between them, and living in the same park made it easy for the two to meet up and Aeria to paint Nico. It also made it easy for Hermes to happen, much to both men's surprise. Being close also makes joint custody easy, with Nico getting him a few days a week and Aeria getting him a few days as well.

Hermes is a bit more timid and introverted than most of Nico's other children, save for TJ, but he gets along well enough with most of them! Because of his father, Aeria, Hermes has been raised to be very artistic, and has a curiosity about things like painting.
