With this year's FurDU being space-themed, it seemed the right time to place Theta in this context, in charge amongst the stars.
I find the contrast between this and my previous Star Trek commission, here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/29935511/ delightful.
I still love the TNG uniform, but there was no way I could pass up depicting femme Theta in the kick-ass TOS mini-skirt dress and knee-high boots.

And of course she's a Captain while he's a Lieutenant Commander.
This is mostly down to aesthetics - I consider those rank insignias the most aesthetically pleasing of their respective eras, but it's definitely also because I have a lot of insecurities around command and control with masc Theta that doesn't happen with femme Theta.
Somehow having him as captain would feel false, but having her as captain is absolutely correct.

And yes, I know it doesn't really make sense to have her as a Captain in a science uniform, but both Thetas wear science uniforms because science is my first love.
As much as being in command opens up opportunities, it's the prospect of discovering new knowledge that really motivates me.
So I don't really care that it doesn't make sense in-universe, this is the right combination for her and that's all that matters.
Or maybe she's the captain of a specialist science mission or something, that could work too 😝

And finally, I decided to change up her hair - her normal haircut didn't seem to fit into the (23)60's setting.
So I stole the hairstyle of another icon from the 60's, I'd love to know if you can guess it!

So yeah, I guess the best way to end it is with those beautiful words: "Live Long, and Prosper"!
