Alright, so for a bit of context, this takes place around the same time as this piece here ( link ), in that while Penny is talking with Tandi, Perry decides to check-in on a simple game that he uploaded to the app store some weeks ago; both to test out how to get a game out there into the world, as well as a means to hopefully make some extra cash on the side (since he and Penny will definitely have plenty of mouths to feed, once all the babies are born).
Little did he realize however, that apparently his rather "simple game" turned out to be a smash hit, thus making the couple quite rich in the process; though it's doubtful that they'll be able to really enjoy their newfound wealth for very long, especially when you consider just how much money they'll have to spend on diapers for a brood their size (and don't even get me started on the growing costs of daycare).
Still though, it appears to have become quite the shock for the young beaver dad; and while he did faint from all of the excitement, I'm sure he'll be fine (the hardwood floors, though, not so much). X3
Anyway, just figured I'd use this to help explain how they'd be able to support their massive family (because I think about that kinda thing on occasion - perhaps a little too much, to be honest), and I hope that you guys enjoy the comic.

From what I understand, it was more that the original developer felt guilty over how addictive the game turned out to be for a lot of players, and so thus, had the game removed from various app stores because of that concern.
So I don't think it was necessarily that the game ruined his life per se, but rather, he felt it was ruining the lives of other people; hence why it kinda went defunct for a while.
