Passed down through generations is the tale of the garden of the beast, where within the depths of juicy, succulent fruit, generous vegetation, and exotic flowers resides an emerald beauty among the meadows and trees. It is told that a few centuries ago, the chieftain travelled into the depths of the forest to beseech of the goddess of nature a bountiful harvest... This was not met well, for the goddess could smell the destruction of the land upon his person, and she, with her vines and the limbs of the trees, chased him from her pastures. Supposedly he took one fruit from her grasp and returned with it as proof of a land full of substance for the people, but to others, seeing his scarred and torn flesh, it was an omen that none should seek the aid of nature so directly again. None have left and returned to prove or disprove the presence of this garden, for throughout the generations, all who tried have never been seen again.
Those that barely ebb their way inside the trees attest to seeing faces of the loved ones that were lost among the patterns of the bark, and to hearing the faint whimpers and whines of their voices among the whispers of the wind. None dare to seek them further in fear of what may awaiting them in the shadows. Thus none truly know of the nature of the beast that lies within, or if she, named the mother, is peaceful or a true monster. All that is known is that none shall enter the depths of the wood that lie on that side of the pastures, and that the trees seem to watch the village now very eerily as the newest chieftain plans an expedition for answers.
A wonderful gift from the amazing ~
