*Note: Many of you hard-core Sonic fans will recognize that Bernadette and Aleena are both Sonic's mothers but in alternate continuities. For the sake of this story, Bernadette is his aunt and Aleena is his true mother.

  A quick recap of what happened last time: Queen Aleena was throwing a party for her son, Sonic the Hedgehog. He had just learned that his mother had the power to inflate herself by drinking a LOT of water. She agreed to give her son a quick demo of her ability in the privacy of her room. With Sonic’s help, Aleena swallowed so much water that she blew up. But have no worries! Popping is harmless and part of her ability is to automatically reconstruct her body after bursting, but sadly this doesn’t extend to her clothes as Sonic figured out…

  After Aleena demonstrated her powers, she and Sonic had a mess to clean. Thanks to Sonic’s speed, they cleaned up the water in no time, and Aleena had redressed in a new white gown. Sonic wanted to know more about how she used her abilities back in the day, thus, the queen then started telling of some of the past times she used her power in the war with Eggman and his armies.
  “…So about ten or so Badniks enter the room.” Aleena explained, “They were expecting to find our team, but all they found was lil’ ole me in the middle of the room with a hose in my mouth and full with enough water to burst. They didn’t know what to think of it, but it was too late for them to do anything. One more gulp and I blew up, splashing all of them at once. Next thing you know they all short-circuited!” Aleena and Sonic all laughed at her story. “That was the fifth time I pulled that trick off! After that, Eggman started waterproofing his robots, so the same trick didn’t work anymore, but it was good while it lasted.”
  They were startled by a sudden knock at the door. "Who is it?" the queen asked as she quickly adjusted her dress for the new company.
  “It's me, Bernadette!" said the feminine voice from the other side. "What happened? I just got here and I heard a loud boom! Is everything all right?"
  "Auntie Bernadette?" Sonic asked with growing glee, "You're here?"
  Aleena was already walking toward the door. "Oh, sorry, Sonic. It was supposed to be a surprise.” The queen opened her room door and in stepped a purple hedgehog lady with blond hair dressed in a simple blue dress.
  "Aunt Bernadette! Long time, no see!" Sonic said.
  "Same here, Sonic! Wow! You grown!" Bernadette commented as she looked her nephew down, then embraced Sonic in a loving hug, then turned to Aleena, "Hey, did you change your dress?”
  "I was showing Sonic that silly power of mine,” Aleena said sheepishly, “And things got out of hand."
  "You mean the whole filling-with-water-and…."
  "Yep.” Aleena chuckled.
  "You know about mom's skill?" Sonic asked.
  "Of course. I can do the same trick myself.” Bernadette said a streak of pride.
  Sonic’s eyes widened. "No way! Really?”
  “I used to do it with air though,” his aunt explained. “Air or water will do, but air is more convent."
  "Can you show me?" Sonic asked eagerly.
  "What? Here? Right now?" Bernadette blushed as she considered her nephew’s request. “You want to see me…blow up?”
  "Blowing up one of us not enough for you, birthday boy?" Aleena joked.
  "Hey, if my mom and aunt have special powers, I want to see them in action."
  Bernadette gave it a thought. "Hmmm…I guess I could show you, but I’m going to need a change of clothes later. Aleena, could I borrow a change of clothes later?"
  "Sure, but if we're doing this. We should go somewhere with more space. And maybe easier to clean up…"

  Aleena and Sonic walked down to the castle gardens. Every plant in the garden was lively and green with the last of the spring flowers nearly gone. The place was decorated for Sonic’s birthday party. Balloons and streamers were tied up on statues, buildings, and trees, and tables and chairs were set up for the coming guests. Everything was ready for the party to start.
  “The guests aren’t here yet, but we should have enough time and privacy to give you a quick demonstration,” Aleena said to Sonic as she looked around the garden.
  “Are you still so secretive about your powers, Aleena? It's nothing to be ashamed of.” Bernadette had gotten hold of some nearby air tanks. They were half her height and rolled on little wheels. "Let’s use these. It’s some leftover Helium from blowing up the balloons."
  “Helium? You’re not going to bloat up and float away, are you?” Sonic asked.
  “Naw, don’t be silly,” Bernadette said. “We may blow up but we’re still too heavy for that, and I don’t think those tanks have enough Helium to make it happen.” Bernadette took the hose connected to one tank to herself and handed Aleena the other hose for the other tank.
  As Aleena took the hose, she blushed as she eyed the pointed nozzle. “Uh, since this is air, we have to take it in another way," she mentioned.
  "Not too fond of this part but, okay,” Bernadette said. She turned to Sonic who was looking at them questionably. “You might want to turn away for a moment."
  Sonic shrugged and did as he was told. Once his back was turned, both ladies took their respective thin nozzles, reached under their dresses, and put them up their butts. Sonic spent the next few seconds listening to the awkward sounds the ladies made as they shoved the nozzles in deep.
  “Are…you two okay?” he asked.
  Bernadette said as she readjusted her dress, “Okay, we’re ready. Turn on the hose.”
  Sonic turned the tank valves a bit. A loud hiss could be heard as helium flowed down the hose. The ladies shifted on their feet as they felt air pressure enter their asses. Their flat bellies rippled and gurgled while the air noisily filled their guts.
  “Hey, I bet you’ll pop before I do,” Bernadette said to Aleena with a smirk.
  “You got to make a game out of everything, don’t you?” Aleena commented, “But I’ll take that bet.”
  Sonic watched with awe as their bellies started to swell. Both hedgehogs held their firm bloating tummies as they blew up. Their clothes tightened around their bodies, staining to stretch around their bellies as they rounded out.
  “I haven’t seen you that big since you had your kids.” Bernadette said pointing to Aleena’s belly.
  “Oh, please! I was bigger than this,” Aleena said. As she said it, her belly doubled in size within seconds, blocking all visual of her feet. She tied to wrap her arms around herself, but she couldn’t even get her arms halfway around. “I was this big!” she chuckled.
  Bernadette gave her growing belly a pat, making the exercise ball of a tummy wobble and gurgle. “Hey, Sonic, we can get bigger than this! Turn it up!”
  “Okay!” Sonic turned the valves all the way open, the hissing intensifed as more air ran through the hose. The girls jumped at the increase of pressure in their bodies. A loud rumble rang from within their bellies as their growth surged.
  “I missed this feeling,” Bernadette moaned as she rubbed her swelling middle. “I haven’t been this big in years!”
  “Getting close to popping yet?” Aleena asked.
  “Not even close!”
  Their bodies grew more spherical as their limbs inflated. Slowly, their dresses started to tear as they failed to contain their girth. One by one, their shoes popped off as their feet grew too big, and their arms and legs bloated so thick they could barely move them. Their breasts expanded bigger than watermelons and rested atop their rounding bellies. It was a miracle that they could keep standing at their size.
  “Mom, you’re blowing up more than before!” Sonic said.
  “Well, there goes my figure,” Bernadette stated looking at her inflating arms. She said to Sonic, “Hope you're getting a really good show.”
  she noticed Sonic was staring at them with an unsure look on his face. "Um…is floating part of your ability?” he asked.
  "Floating?" Bernadette looked down and saw that she and Aleena were floating nearly a foot off the ground, and they were getting higher!
  "Ahh! Why are we floating?" Aleena asked in a panic, her thick arms and legs wiggling helplessly in the air. “I thought you said that were we too heavy.”
  "We are! What kind of crazy helium is this?” Bernadette screamed. Her body rolled forward in the air as she rose. “Sonic! Turn off the gas before we get too high!"
  "Hold on!" Sonic reached for the valves but tripped on the hoses in his haste, making him fall face first on the ground. That’s when he noticed the disconnected valve knobs in his hands. “Oh no! Not again!” He groaned. He tried to get up and grab the tanks but he was too slow to catch them before they were pulled by the hoses up with his mother and aunt. He watched helplessly as the two hedgehog balloons floated nearly as high as the castle within seconds.
  “Sonic…please do something!” Aleena called out. “Don’t let us get any higher!”
  Floating was the least of their problems. The air tanks were still connected firmly to their asses still pumping air into them, and they were quickly reaching their limit. They were the size of parade blimps before Aleena felt her body creak. "Oh, no! I can't take…!" Aleena's face bloated and her eyes crossed before she burst into a plume of purple smoke and confetti.
  Bernadette let out a "HA!" before she too burst.
  Sonic's eyes widened as both hedgehogs exploded. The smoke and confetti drifted down to the garden blocking Sonic’s view. “Mom! Aunt Bernadette!” he coughed as he waves the smoke away, “Are you okay?”
  As the smoke cleared, Sonic found his mother and aunt sitting on the ground, back to their normal selves minus their clothes. Sonic zipped into the castle and returned with some towels that they quickly took to cover themselves. Sonic asked, “Was that supposed to happen?”
  “The popping, or the smoke and confetti?” Bernadette replied. “Because the smoke and confetti are new.”
  “That would be the helium,” Aleena explained, “It was a special mix for balloons. We were going to pop them later and well…surprise!”
  “Huh. Well, that was a real ‘blast!’” Sonic joked. “Eh? Eh? Get it?”
  “You’re lucky you’re the birthday boy, otherwise I would have booed that joke,” Bernadette said.
Aleena snickered at that. Before they knew it, they were all laughing. Despite everything that happened, they couldn’t help but laugh at the craziness of it all.
