There we go, I was waiting for someone to finally advance the text scroll.
"You have opened a program on your computer out of curiosity. You only vaguely recognized it when you were going through your files yet it somehow felt important.
The program seems unresponsive for awhile. You are doing some other task when it unceremoniously greets you with what appears to a character select screen; There are 4 characters displayed:
A child in what seems like some kind of funeral attire (D),
A mediocre businessman (S),
A figure cloaked in shadow wearing some sort of crown ®,
A misshapen creature with buck teeth and a mohawk (F).
There is no text displayed or music. You feel compelled to select one of them."
"Which character would you like to choose?"

While this is not quite what I intended, I would love to explore this here.
I'll take the figure cloaked in shadow wearing some sort of crown!

"After a significantly delay a new screen loads. The figure is sitting on a dirty chair in a dark room. They stare at the bundle of coloured straws in their hand.
Occasionally the room shakes, as if struck by some distant force. From what very little can be made of the room there are 16 cribs, 2 of them already empty. The figure looks over them and sighs, pulling out some kind of notepad, checking over it 1 last time. After 1 last sigh they begin pulling the straws, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...
The figure gets up and begins heads toward 1 of the cribs, readying some kind of blade. They do not enjoy this, nobody does, they're just the only 1 willing to do what must be done. Staring into the crib they say "Maybe in some better world, Maybe". They hold the knife above the crib, the following act is sparingly skipped over.
The figure is now standing by the door, ready to leave this place behind. They know no one here will ever want to see them again. They don't blame them. Despite it's necessity the act will never be forgiven. They don't want any forgiveness or thanks, they want the others to live on, to enjoy life, to not starve and think nothing of them ever again. Such is the way of Recrea Asped."
"After that sequence is finished you are abruptly returned to the original screen the crowned figure replaced with a blue creature in a red suit, on closer inspection they appear slightly wet. You are not sure you want to continue."

"On the stage of history; a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold...."
