Day 7: Eldritch
"Discovered by accident during an undersea expedition in the Mariana Trench, this artifact dubbed "The Abyssal Cutlass" by the exploration team that discovered it, has been a closely studied by scientific institutions and governments for almost a century trying to decipher how and from what it's made from and who or what made it. It's constructed out of a material not found anywhere on the periodic table and stronger than any alloy known to man. And on top of that it appears to be alive as the tendrils, "mouth" and eyes that make up the weapon actually move despite the weapon not appearing to be made of organic material. Not only this but the sword itself appears to have some kind power within it. Anyone who wields it is granted superhuman abilities including telepathy and telekinesis, however these powers came at a high price of the wielders' sanity. Prolonged use of the swords has been noted to cause permanent damage to their psyche driving them sometimes into homicidal madness. But most oftentimes they simply turn into jibbering wrecks, muttering things in some undecipherable language. There have even been cases of prolonged contact causes physiological changes to the subject like their skin taking on the texture and features of that found in sea life. One subject even had his eyes take on the appearance of a squids and he could spit ink. Whatever the Abyssal Cutlass is it's become clear after decades of study that it simply wasn't meant to be wielded by human hands. If it wasn't meant for humans, then who or what was it made for?"
