That's Remus' superpower. Capacity. He may be a complete sweetheart, but do not threaten Lyla.
Atlas fell prey to the very phenomenon that he swore to destroy...how poetic.
Atlas threatened the wrong predator. Remus is a gentle soul, but really, don't threaten Lyla.
And that just makes it more fun! Love to see how flustered Remus gets when he usually doesn't digest others
I am going to ask permission to show the rest of the series, I doubt it will be granted, but I can at least try.
It's really fun, in that not only does Remus digest Atlas he does it quite quickly. Fast enough that Lyla, in the background, is expressing open admiration and cheering him on! Remus is as humble as he always is, but still proud of having protected his adopted daughter.

He's eaten whole alligators before. As above, capacity seems to be his superpower. He just doesn't USE it unless he's forced to to protect his loved ones. Lyla definitely counts, and Atlas has been targeting her for a while.
This is actually sort of an intermediate of a sequence that Fid did earlier - he does it so fast even Lyla is impressed!
It was a Patreon-only exclusive. Surprisingly this got posted and I don't think the original ever was. I don't own the rest of the series so I can't show it.
In these sorts of non-canon what-ifs it's been happening a lot lately. I think it's a dream of every gluttonous predator in the Megawild to take down Atlas. Heck, that's a major plot point, I think, in the Hunter-Killer comic.
That's gonna take a while to digest and hurt a *lot* on the way out, but the bragging rights alone make it worth it~
Less than you might think! Herons can cast pellets just like birds of prey. The indigestible pieces leave via the front, and unlike with us, regurgitation doesn't hurt birds.
LOVE how the bulges are done here. Can really feel how Remus is getting absolutely stuffed through every inch of their body~
