I think Erof is cruel. He knows Talisan isn't a soldier, yet he expects him to work just like any other one. He basically told Talisan he wasn't welcome in the tribe anymore when he said the soldiers couldn't come into camp without their logs. I think he's a good character and really hot, don't get me wrong, but he's not good person.
Ok so I don't think I was right in calling him cruel. He doesn't actively seek to ruin Talisan's life. He just doesn't *care* if his life gets ruined. If a "runt" like Talisan is left behind to fend for themselves in the wilderness, he doesn't act as if it matters to him. He might not voice it like Talisan's team mates, but he treats the little guy like dead weight.
