The third and final card for Wilds of Eldraine: Dutiful Griffin! I had wanted to paint this one traditionally as well but was unfortunately short on time, and this piece was by far the most detailed of the three.
Griffin though! I've always wanted to paint one for MtG, one of my favorite classical mythological beasts. I hope to be able to do another someday and then actually paint it traditionally!

That's both beautiful and adorable. I want one.
I like to think the magic is emanating from the griffin and that human(ish) person is merely getting the side benefit of it.

Those feathers!!!! I just wanna get all up in there and pet it! Stunning as always.
gorgeous as always! Love following your writing, thanks for doing this!
Convince them to make a gryphon commander and paint it so I can make gryph tribal lol
Looks great! Especially the feathers, but the armor details are neat as well. And the foliage.
hmm what's the story of the magic swirls here? Is the griffin watching over their human who's under that enchanted slumber thing going on? If so... dang, that griffin's been there quite a while based on the plant growth!
This is beyond beautiful - this is.. ~Positively pulchritudinous~! <3333333
amazing details, especially on the griffin. Could I ask how long did this piece take you to finish?
MtG just has the best artists for their card images
Read the "Mage Wars Trilogy" by Mercedes Lackey, The Black Gryphon, The White Gryphon and The Silver Gryphon, all three books have, you guessed it, gryphons. ๐ธ
Great job on this, makes me look forward to this set even more!
Continually awed by your work and success for MtG, another stellar piece.
I love this piece, I keep the art card for it in the back of my phone case
