The studying and categorizing of planet Earth comes with so many challenges, and the aliens know all too well the risks that come from it. After the Roswell incident, the aliens decided that it is simply too dangerous to allow themselves be exposed to humans, considering how their appearances alone made these humans see them as ugly, grotesque monsters. Plus, they also have Area 51 to fear about; the mere mention alone strikes fear within their hearts. Those who must interact with humans on a daily basis must don human disguises.

However, Appo is different. Due to his appearance that the aliens determined as the most human-pleasing of all, Appo's line of work enables him to directly interact with human children without any disguises, helping them with their various needs and life problems, such as bullies, homeworks, school life, etc.. Basically, your stereotypical Saturday morning cartoon plot. XD He can also levitate objects with his tail -- the round red tip glows whenever he uses his power. He must still keep himself hidden from adult humans, however: he uses a device that makes himself invisible to anyone past the age of 13 years old.

Appo was originally just a mere random background character, created just to populate Az's various friends who together are also part of the same line of work. Specifically, this page from my comic, Di Luar Sana: https://www.deviantart.com/marwangr.....lish-826368140 However, a friend of mine took a big liking for this character, and wondered about his backstory and such. So I decided, hey, why not I flesh him out more? Appo's backstory was largely inspired by those children's cartoons that feature a magical creature helping the child protagonist going through their life's problems, such as that old Hungarian animated series, "A kockásfülű nyúl" (The Rabbit with Checkered Ears). His design was more influenced by those European cartoons, really.
