Ishma and Adam were looking for their next big adventure when they heard about The Prison of Indulgence, a massive dungeon hidden underneath the ruins of an old kingdom that once belonged to a foul king whose greed was only matched by his voracious appetite.
The closer they got to the location, the more they noticed the roads lining up with food vendors, taverns and for some reason, rescue services.
Ishma was weirded out by this, but he was completely put off by the whole thing once Adam mentioned that they weren't the only ones seeking the rumored mountains of treasure hidden at the heart of the labyrinth.
Many more adventurers were seen camping right outside the ruins, and Ishma noticed something common among all of them, they were all quite portly and some of them downright FAT. While Adam laughed at this, Ishma took it as a sign and decided to investigate more.
Talking with some of them, they quickly realized that maybe they were about to bite more than they could chew, apparently the curse of the dungeon set by the late king strikes everyone with ravenous hunger the moment you set a foot in the place, it doesn't help that all along the way, food magically appears to tempt the unprepared.
It gets worse once you hit the big threshold, The Hall of Endless Banquets, an opulent looking banquet hall fit for royalty. So far, no one had made it past that point, always finding themselves sitting on the majestic table letting the disembodied hands of the king's servants feeding them decadent foods nonstop.
At that point is where the rescue services come in. Adam took a look at the guys from the rescue squad, all of them big, but unlike the adventurers, they were living walls of muscle, which made sense once he looked at the badger mage they were talking to. His gut almost scraped the ground while standing, putting most of his weight on that sturdy staff of his.
The badger mentioned this was his twentieth attempt, and that he and his group would finally make it past The Hall, drool escaping his mouth as he said so. Bringing out some cured meats from his robe, he started devouring them right in front of them, saying he needed it to feel up his stomach before entering. According to him, it made the charms hold longer.
Perking up his ears at the mention of the word "charms" Ishma asked the mage for more info. According to him, the charms protect them from the curse for a certain amount of time, but even the blessings of the charm can't hold for too long if you had already been afflicted by the curse once. In that case you need to hold more than one. As he mentioned this, the badger undid his tunic, letting a flinching Ishma see the six medallions carved with protection runes stuck in between his massive sweaty moobs.
Regaining his composure after seeing such an image, Ishma asked how come the guys from the rescue squad didn't look as "soft" as the adventurers. The badger explained that it was because the medallions they wore were blessed by a saint from the kingdom's church, and they were able to fully repel the curse, well, just as long as they didn't break their vow to indulge in any of the food. If they do, well, the rebound from the curse hits them quite hard, bringing memories of the former captain of the squad.
By the time his men brought him out, he had become so massively fat that he couldn't walk anymore, his men ended up hauling him back to their kingdom's church in a cargo carriage while he kept on devouring massive hams resting on his belly to keep him from screaming how he wanted to go back to The Hall.
The badger kept on rambling about the captain, hits of jealousy and arousal started blending in with his words and Ishma decided it was his time to leave. Calling for Adam, he let out a loud grunt when he noticed his scaly companion had gone off on his own.
He found him moments later, the hunky sporting a big grin on his face as he held two charmed medallions with him. Ishma asked him how he found them since earlier he tried buying some, but the price was way beyond their budget. Adam simply responded with:
Adam: "A sweet old fox lady gave them to me, saying that my face looked really honest, and she loved helping honest adventures like me, now we can go inside that dungeon and steal all that treasure!"
Ishma: "..."
Adam: "Um, did I do something wrong, you're making that face you always make whenever I make you cum too fast"
Ishma: "W-What!? You idiot, I don't - NEVERMIND!! You were duped, those are probably fake. That lady was probably in cahoots with some members of the rescue squad. I've been hearing some adventures talking about how their charms didn't work and how they had to pay "rescue fees" when the service is supposed to be free of charge since it is being provided by the kingdom."
Adam: "Aww, c'mon there's no harm in trying them, I know you want to! I saw that tail wagging when we heard about this place for the first time. And I'm not leaving until my Ishi gets a look inside the damn place!"
Ishma: "D-Don't call me that… at least not here… … … Fine, sheesh, but the moment we start feeling the effects of the curse, we're OUT! Are we clear?"
Adam: "Like a crystal ball! I love it when you get all serious Ishi. Now, let's go eat, I'm starving! We gotta fill up the tank before getting in there. Let's go to the nearest tavern!"
Ishma: "We don't have enough gold for that…"
Adam: "Aww… Well, to the nearest food stall!"
Ishma: "... Idiot. <chuckle>"
