Leni in a racing suit? What the hell is going on?
Well, yes, actually I'm a huge fan of Formula 1 and watch every race I can! That also means that I'm playing the F1 games, and I'd say I'm somewhat decent at it as well :> It was basically just a matter of time for me to get an F1 themed commission, and this one here just marks the start. The background is a close on-track and championship fight between the three people shown in the art: Leni, Corvix and Leonidas. It's a lot of fun, and I'm hoping for many more great battles in the future~
PS: I'm actually a Red Bull Racing fan - in the league I'm driving for Alpine though, hence the alpine car and racing suit~
A huge thanks to the_raf for this amazing piece inspired by the title cover of older F1 games! It's really spot-on to get the same feeling across, you can sense the speed despite it being a static image! Love it~
Also: The FRL (Furry Racing League) is a community dedicated to running races in Codemaster's F1 games - currently on F1 23. We're always looking for new drivers who might enjoy participating in the league! Every skill level is welcome, as long as you keep the racing etiquette~
But for the time being, enjoy this little news report written by Dragonfire7 :>
Regulations shake the FRL grid:
But will they shake the order?
Once more, the anticipation has come to an end. Out with the old, in with the new, that's the bottom line of the new regulations defining the rules for the remainder of the season.
While it will no doubt impact all teams and most certainly change the cars, the question currently asked most in the paddock remains: Can anyone stop the big three?
Corvix, the dutch-angel-dragon. The current championship leader, a driver that has been delivering performances from the word go all season, setting times ablaze in qualifying and races alike, regardless of how treacherous the conditions.
Coming off of a difficult maiden season with Red Bull, the dutch angel is now chasing his first title and continues to impress. The pursuit of glory has clearly elevated him to new heights, only challenged by two other rivals on the grid.
One of them the Riftguardian Leonidas Valkir, the reigning champion. While the season didn't begin to the dragons satisfaction, it took little time to once again prove himself among the best, the only driver on the grid to never finish outside the points: And only ever off the podium once in all races he's started.
With Mercedes once again fully backing him into securing a second world championship and only a few points adrift of Corvix, the Riftguardian will settle for nothing less but victory.
And finally, the ice dragon Leniovias. A dragon which has turned heads from his arrival late into the previous season, taking the fight to Mercedes dominance. Rookie or not, he has picked up right where he left off, keeping both of his title rivals on their toes with blistering times in qualifying and incredible race performances.
Keeping Corvix and Leonidas honest last time out in Monza, the ice dragon seems just as poised to take the most coveted prize of all at the end of the season.
Eight races into what has been a longwinded Season 2, the statistics continue to tell the same story: Only the top three of the championship have won races, and only two of their teammates have secured podiums in the meantime.
Eight races, three winners, five podium sitters.
However, with the immediately effective regulation change, this statistic could look very different once the lights go out in Austria. With rising talents such as Red Bulls Xahau Vega, Mercedes Storm and Alpines Sira already showcasing their prowess all season, it begs the question if they can capitalize to finally claim their prestigious first win and shake up the iron grip of their teammates on the standings.
Likewise, the midfield seems set to only tighten up and close their gap to the front, though only time will tell which team can take advantage the most and become the first champions of this new era of racing.
