It has been a few years since I made myself an icon, and I felt like I'd like to make myself a new one as a warm-up to getting back to commissions after getting back from Anthrocon.
This was done digitally in Clip Studio Paint, and I was a little experimental with it. I feel more comfortable experimenting with different tools and techniques when its something for myself and I'm not worried about consistency for a commissioner. I used a sketchier inking brush with more tooth, finally tried reference layers which should speed up flat coloring considerably, and tried a few other different tools, techniques and layer modes. Anyway, I had fun with it and I'm reasonably happy with the results.

This is SOOOOO cute!!
Also I understand worrying about consistency for a commissioner, that's a problem I have too. But it turned out fantastic and hopefully you learned from it!

Thank you! I did learn some from my experimentation. And hopefully some of it will improve my workflow!
A very lovely cat lady, very nice. I guess you'll be using this in various places and sizes, if it was only about FA, I would have suggested to go with less details and more prominent linework.
That's so cute you do such great headshots as well we have to get some badges from you :D
It turned out very well! Digital, but with a lot of "traditional" look and flare to it, I think. Of the things you learned in doing it, do you think you'll carry some forward into commissioned work, or just keep it for person pieces for now?
Very cute looking avatar. Look very excited and curious
This looks fantastic! Kacey is such a gorgeous character, and I've always loved her design. Her colors and markings are so pretty, and her hair is just gorgeous. Her expression is just lovely, too, and it's a fantastic piece all around!
