My main OC!!
I love her so much it"s unreal, started out as a Spyro OC and deep in her heart she still is. We"ve been through a lot, the first drawing of her dates back to April 2009.
Here"s to many more years together, with her updated look!
I need reminders to draw for myself bc I haven"t done that in months gl;kfg
Some facts!
· her dragonkin (species) is called Gull"Jae , they live on an island surrounded by rocks and smaller islands and just water for miles around. They primarely eat fish and algae.
· with that said, she loves to fly, she can fly fast but not for very long. she enjoys spending time on Coastal Plains, catching sea winds from distant places.
· she"s often lost in her own thoughts, head in the clouds literally and metaphorically. she"s the weird one in her family/clan
· Mommy issues™
· doesn"t know how to smile?? always smiles weird + upside-down smile
· restless. always in search for something else, never satisfied
· LOVES to hear about other folk"s adventures, of faraway lands, dreams of traveling and seeing the world but is stuck on her home island for now.
· imagine a burnt out art college dropout, a family dissappointment, trying to find her place under the sun. that"s her vibe
· while she may seem distant and rude (bc she struggles to really understand her feelings and emotions), overall she is just kind and curious. just a nice little tired gal

I love her. I get the feeling she'd definitely vibe with my curmudgeonly forest derg lol. Always tired but usually nice, lol
Tau! She's such a distinctive, recognisable character, and I'm thrilled that you've developed a bit more lore for her. :D I can't believe she's now 14 years old in our world, and 22 years in hers. Maybe as you both get a bit older, you'll be able to start depict signs of her aging, like in the grey hairs or something, that would be a cool evolution to see.
It looks like you've made her wing 'fingers' and her paw talons/fingers a bit longer and maybe dexterous, that's pretty neat. The red/brown features around her shoulders also seem like a new thing, I adore the way that they surround her neck like a cool natural kind of necklace which helps focus the viewer's gaze on her face. But much remains the same, like her colours and 'sharp' features of her body, especially her snout.
From her bio and past artwork, I kind of get the impression she might be neurodivergent in a way, like autism or something else (if that is a thing that dragons experience). The way that she struggles to smile or convey body language effectively, doesn't talk a lot, deep thinking, has difficulties with enigmatic turbulent emotions, is restless, etc. I could be wrong and be generalising too much! It's just a thought I had, based on my own experiences and that of some friends.
I imagine a lot of people could relate to her, especially folks in the furry fandom - feeling like a failure (although whether that's true could be arguable), a let down for loved ones, and struggling to fit into society (or more like society not quite fitting around her or accommodating her), and struggles of living traditional life-paths like everyone else (but not authentic to her unique personality) vs. non-conventional approaches to life - I can see one reason here why she might feel so drained of energy.
I'd love to see more of her, whenever you have time, capacity and enthusiasm for it. :) She's a lovely character with a lot of potential for further explorations of her story - I'm sure many would feel similarly keen for more of her. Nice reference!
