It really is sad a fun show like that got canned. I absolutely loved 101 DS and the characters that came from it. All the voices were fantastic, the plots were solid, and the songs were fun too.

back in the day they didn't even market much merchandise for the original series as well outside of several coloring books and the book Cruella returns, as well as the McDonalds happy meal set for the series. Then again the merch from the 1996 live action movie was still being produced at the time. would it have killed Disney to re-theme the live action movie plushes to fit the series designs? (mainly Lucky, Two-Tone, Dipstick, and Wizzer)

I can't believe they didn't renew this for a 2nd season immediately like every other modern Disney cartoon.

Also the advertising done for US television was outright abysmal.
They only had one commercial for it, and most of the footage was from The D-Factor, Dante's Inferno, Better the De Vil You Know, and even The De Vil Wears Puppies

It's a shame since this is a Top 20 Disney cartoon for me.

It's unfair that good, decent shows like this one get cancelled, while rubbish shows such as Big City Greens get lots of seasons and even movies!

Big City Greens is actually pretty entertaining honestly.
And despite its long running status, it still feels fresh.
(Phineas and Ferb started to feel stale by its own 3rd season in comparison leading to a 4th season with some honestly moronic humor and writing save for its finales)

It seems both of us are sad because we loved the same shows and all of them got cancelled. Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, 101 Dalmatian Street, Littlest Pet Shop: A World Of Our Own and My Pride (I like that show, too). The only show I like but never got cancelled was Dragons: Rescue Riders. But sadly, it finished a few months ago. But hey, at least we still got PAW Patrol, Bluey, Spirit Rangers, SuperKitties, etc. If you focus too much on what you lost, you'll never be able to enjoy the blessings we have now.

Whatever we consider good or fun will never last forever, but we'll always cherish it in memory with joy to no end. We have to move on from the past over, but we'll never forget its fond moments.

Brilliant but cancelled. Maybe they did not schedule or market it correctly. Maybe they just did not want to pay to have the creative team come back. Corporate America functions in ways that seem absurd to us. But, ultimately it is about money. Just look at all the shows Warner not only cancelled but pulled from every outlet.

Yeah it really sucks when companies do that, but as long as artists like you keep making art the series will never die :3

It bothers me too that we never got a second season for 101DS as well. It deserves so much. That's not to say it has a few errors i didn't notice before that could use some fixing. But that's just me. But regardless, this show has potential that the suits just didn't have any interest in giving another season or three.

I wish this fandom had more wholesome and cute fanart of this series but for some reason, the other artists on Furaffinity or Twitter really don't like this show for some reason and they made horrible hate Fanart of the characters from this show especially Dolly and it makes me angry and mad that Disney cancelled this show for a dumb reason and just let Cruella be in the spotlight for once. We need more wholesome fanart of the characters from the show for once and just don't let disgusting individuals make hate art of these innocent characters. I used to like Whitewolf and Playzone because their art style were cute and innocent but, I found out they were making horrible fanart of the minor characters from the show and I stopped being friends with them and moved on.
I just really hope this show comes back maybe someday if Disney Executives change their minds. Dolly and Dylan & the rest of the characters from the show deserve better.

Really? I thought it was just rare to see art of it in the shows style bc "owo default furry style cuter" which is why the one time I did it it was in the shows style. Didn't know people legit hated it.

It's despicable, what Disney did to this show. There's plenty of others that got carelessly thrown out, too (nice mentions for LPS: AWOOO and RBUK); makes me wish that there was a private fund out there that could be used to keep under-loved cartoon series going (even if it's only for a little while).

I watched a pretty interesting video that dissected the series cancelation. Essentially Disney did an overall poor job at advertising, merchandising, marketing and scheduling it. They more or less looked at the poor views it was getting on Disney Channel of all things and decided to kill it by tossing it onto their paid cable service Disney XD... Poor views that they were greatly to blame for. And basing this decision off cable ratings, an increasingly irrelevant transmission medium. Meanwhile when it did toss the series onto Disney it was done relatively quietly. Just so infuriating that such a great show was smothered so early on by greedy, impatient and heedless executives.

True, it's a shame that Disney removed it away, when the show managed to bear good potential for the future.

I frankly consider 101 Dalmatian Street the best TV series out of the entire franchise, because it focuses on the simple yet chaotic life of many known puppies (besides those of Dylan and Dolly). While the earlier TV series focused on several characters (just a few puppies, their parents Pongo and Perdita, their non-dog friends, their human owners, Cruella and her henchmen), this series managed to have it on 16 known puppies (as well as their parents Doug and Delilah, their non-Dalmatian friends, their neighbor Clarissa, and Hunter and his cat), all within one season.

The amount of characters the show was able to successfully juggle in just 26 episodes was indeed impressive. All the more disappointing as it felt like the writers really had plenty more interesting stories to tell and characters arcs to explore.

I hate that good shows like this aren't given chances. They don't think about the fans. Paying attention to the people that actually watch it instead of the people that also want to watch it.

I feel bad for the guys at atomic cartoons, they pour their souls into this series only for it to flop due to disney’s heinous mismanagement and obsession over restricting it to disney in north america; dooming it from the start.
