That would be even more fun, if he found something really important in the end. XD
Isn't it supposed to warn you if you don't have a memory card inserted the FIRST time you try to take a picture?
It does the entire time. But the warning message is small and crammed at the top of the viewfinder with other information. If you don't have your eye close to the eyepiece, it is easy to miss (for instance, if you are wearing glasses).
On my camera, it's a BIG warning on the screen on the back of the camera and it shows up after the first attempt at a photo.
And it wouldn't make the sound. Also, mirror ones cry murder about missing card :P
I've never used a Canon DSLR but, I do know on my Canon it shows up on the back screen after the first attempt at a photo. It isn't big but it is the only thing on the screen.
I tested with mine (EOS 30D): it displays a "No CF Card" error messages and promptly turns off.
My Canon will let me take a picture but it will give the message on the viewscreen "Cannot Record", but in the mean time, it'll say "No memory card" on the screen.
maybe the duckies will stay put of you ask them?...
Thanks again so much for taking on this commission. I love it and, it seems that my watchers do too.
it is; relatable.
that scores you internet points.
plus it's a good reason to have nice scenery.
we like nice scenery.

I have been there, done that, and will most likely do it again.
And, for me, with regularity. I use a digital camera in my job and I have to turn in the card to be downloaded at least once a day. I have three backups and I will sometimes forget to replace the turned-in card. (Usually at least once a week.)
When I used to have a film camera, I could not get the damn thing to grab it properly, EVER.... so much money wasted...
Reminds me of the one who took all the vacation photos with the lens cap on (it's true!)
Just like when you used to forget to put film into the camera ... technology changes but it dosen't help every issue
