and with this i conclude the chromatique quintade of dragonborn with the first i actually drew, one i have had the fun of using in a D&D campaign.
thus with her i can bring you (though there might be too much to read) in her two separate pieces the more complete story of the De Valvyn family. Enjoy those who would even read the blocks of text ^^:

finally ending with Duchess Katherine, unlikely to become grand duchess unless both of her sibling die and thus supposedly meant to serve her bloodline by wedding a decent bachelor and having kids to maintain the family"s name, getting immense pressure like sullyvan from her older sister whose all about sacrificing yourself for the family and who makes sure that if she dies, they both would still manage to replace her as grand duke or duchess.

with both parents down in the actual city waterdeep along with anasthasie, sullyvan away at sea as usual, it fell upon a roughly 15 years old (+7 for the human equivalent as they reach a 10y old"s maturity at 3, say goodbye to your childhood) katherine to try her best to organise the defences of their city in the midst of an undead incursion and it fell upon her to decide, when a group of bloodhunters with an awful reputation (what you get for using lycanthropy) leaped into the fray and started mowing down undeads to allow them to pursue their work and send the guard to assist them.
And since the De Valvyn have standards to uphold she did what no noble heir should and fought side by side with her subordinates and the assisting hunters, which rewarded her mid battle with a deep and massive wound on her throat from a disciple of the order who unfortunately lost control and succumbed to the curse"s bloodlust, infecting her, a local and popular duchess in the process with the baleful affliction.

And though gravely wounded, Katherine did what she likes to do, turning a massive misfortune into an opportunity and saw in this strange, wild order of fierce hunters a way out of her bleak, numbing noble life, the same her brother so often fled and did the unthinkable once her father returned.
