Trying to get myself out of my recent funk, and wanted to make a new emote for my Piczel chat.
On that note: G U N.
The gun in question is a P90 because I'm a massive Stargate nerd.

Always love the P90. I find its development more interesting than anything. The reason it fires such tiny rounds is because the bullets it fires are designed to travel at ultra high velocity in order to make it through body armor that would otherwise stop slower rounds (mainly pistol rounds, as the P90 was designed as a PDW to replace or supplement a pistol to non-frontline troops who would normally just have a pistol and nothing else).
Truly a gun of the future. It LOOKS like it's from the future, and it's definitely still going to be there in the times ahead. Special operations type troops love it for its giant magazine capacity and compactness, and its ability to make it right through body armor will always be a handy thing.

Yeah I remember watching Ahoy's video and it was interesting to learn about its development history and intended role in the tail end of the cold war. And its competitor for the PDW role was/is H&K's MP7 which ended up being produced like 11 years later.
And as you said, it kind of looks like something from the future. The visual design is basically instantly recognizable.

I as well have seen that video. I love Ahoy. The MP7 has always had an uphill battle against its rival, the P90, because like you said, it came out so much later. Objectively, the P90 is the better weapon, with larger magazines, but the MP7's main selling point - besides the fact it's an H&K - is the ergonomics. The P90, while definitely a very forward thinking gun ahead of its time, it is a bit alien for some people who want a more conventional weapon, layout-wise. Both very good guns, both have their loyal users and fanbases. And neither are going away any time soon. The fact that the cartridges they fire go straight through body armor, and their overall compactness, means we'll definitely be seeing them or descendants and offshoots of them for many, many decades to come. They're great guns in today's age, and their true age to shine hasn't even arrived yet.
I like my PS90, haven't really shot it yet because I want to do some fun things to it.
