Ah, porter as in teleporter. Very clever. I love the idea of different tesseract patterns determining teleportation location.
Long, long ago I used to play D&D and we used that as a "teleport beacon" that would half or more the cost of a Teleport, which made country-jumping possible. Our campaign traveled all over the region, so it certainly made life interesting. The tesseract idea came from trying to make each location different enough that it would be unique, regardless of where you went. ^_^
Sounds like an interesting academy. I wonder what the curriculum is like.
Basic Summoning I & II, Elemental Evocation I thru IV, Scribing Scrolls for Dummies, Transportation Magic, Item Creation, How to Manage Your Spellbook... A few others, I'm sure. LOL!
Nicely done, always interesting to see how different story-worlds function. And sounds like handy way to get around! ;)
If I saw someone with Teleporting for Dummies tucked under their arm, I'd expect to get somewhere...just not sure where.
LOL! Probably at least one or two of them in that main chamber...
