* chuckles softly* Don't feel bad oh lovely artist.. depending on the group of gamers, an RPG game can quickly turn south, north and even some other direction not on the compass, when we've all had proper feeding ( mostly from decent take out restaurants) and are in the spirit of wanting to kick arse for the glory of our characters..
... and then we start getting dice hosed! OH the profanities.. the off the wall ideas ( adult and otherwise) as well as the general annoyance of threatening our dice with the "Microwave technique"

lol! I use metal dice, so putting them in the microwave probably wouldn't be good...
Poor Pet recently developed an obsessive compulsive disorder in response to rolling a critical failure in the face of horrible trauma, lol. She's also currently very VERY in debt after rolling a 3 or something that in negotiations against someone who critically succeeded - I ended up owing even MORE money than I borrowed! XD

I can beat it hon.. or rather one of my gaming companions can "beat it"... we just recently rolled up new characters for the Pallidum fantasy RPG our GM is gonna run to shake things up for a different bit.. we've had to stop our old D&D game because we lost a couple of key players for family reasons and one of which wanted to run his own gaming group.. but we still had the desire to play in that kind of a world.
When rolling backgrounds for the characters in question, our first player got:
He had 2 sets of rolls that gave him bonuses to physical strength and endurance. some mental calming techniques that help him focus and calm his mind,
BUT
he also has :
Serious nerve damage : if a crit failure is rolled during combat then character has a seizure
Atheist anarchist : religion is for the helpless and laws are for the weak (( and he's the group "Priest of Light"...we're all waiting to see how he's gonna play THaT Background roll ))
Political activist : 1IQ, 1 MA, and the skill of local History ( < the running joke is; > you ain't going to get any healing or anything until you listen to him on his soap box for at least half an hour )

I wonder if the player will actually enjoy playing him :b Sometimes I find characters can be a bit too... abrasive, lol, to work well in group situations - sometimes you end up playing a character who just hates the other characters and doesn't want anything to do with them... or maybe they ARE motivated to be around the other characters, but the other characters legitimately hate him :V

I’ve certainly been in more than one campaign that went way, WAY off the rails!
Even after a week off and getting back together to try and finish the quest it immediately went south again and again.
One time we abandoned the DMs quest and went on a suicidal dragon hunt, have you ever had a dragon put a bounty on your party?…. It doesn’t end well.

by rights.. that depends on who comes after you.. if they're really really good **OR** if the party works together, kicks their butts.. then takes ALL THEIR stuff ( as well as any "advance bounty money" ) and just keep getting stronger for when the next bounty hunters show up..
Hmm, our campaign is in no ways "off the rails" despite it not going in the direction my husband originally thought lol - he thought it'd end up being a light-hearted campaign in which Pet literally cat-burgles her way through the world on random adventures for fun trinkets... Instead, she's ended up embroiled in highly political fantasy MI6 in-fighting and secret agent spywork... and also been tasked by the literal god of the Realms to become a sexual legend XD
hehhee.. fun and interesting.. I have converted a total of 3 major characters from many years of playing the original D&D 1st ed, into furry equivelents of my story universe..
Sashi ( pictured here in her fetish gear: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/21606162/ ) is both my flagship character and one of the first one's I ever created. In keeping with her years of being played and such, I transferred her to my furry universe, but kept a few key points about her background; chief among which was that when she was about 5 or 6th level.. she and the rest of the party got trained by a literal japanese monkey god in the arts of " Monkey Style Combat Kung-fu"... what was FUN about it was that the old geezer had a streak of " lecherousness" that because my girl was the one with the highest Physical beauty ... well he gave her some regularly occurring special "endurance" training during the 12 months they were being trained by him in a pocket dimension..
In the end, when the adventure was over, the GM and other players voted that I stayed in character the best, and to that end, before she continued on her travels, she was gifted with an indestructible Bladed polearm of 3 ( to hit and damage) that was forged by the monkey god himself as a "good bye present"
Every now and then he drops by.. virtually always when she has a party during major holidays.. He comes in disguise, but she knows him by his face, expression, and the fact that on those holidays she wears a necklace with a tiny silver bell on it.. it "rings" once or twice when he's nearby so she knows he's about.. (( in reality, it's his way of keeping an eye on her.. he's just never told her he likes her.. A LOT .. the lecherous ol fella..

Nice! Sounds like she earned herself a fan ;) XD Always good to have friends in high places! Also, hahaah - my character at one point had to go undercover as a slave and was sold at market, and went through similar "endurance" training XD As a reward, I was granted the ability to, once a day, make a Fortitude save with Advantage (we play Pathfinder, but it's very homebrew and we throw in some Advantage/Disadvantage here and there).

Yes! For food and shinies :D She is a smol floof, however - smol and dumb XD She eventually makes friends with people who can be stronk and smart for her XD

lol! Fair :) She relies a lot on her friends - thankfully she's pretty good at making them! (She's got a killer Diplomacy roll ;) )

Oooh I'm excited to see more of this! I love how some ttrpg games go places you never expected. Be it intense or heartfelt or mindblowing what-the-fuckery LOL. I look forward to my game every week! I love how you illustrated the landscapes in this. :D
Thank you so much! And yeah, I feel like this campaign has a really surprising variety - like, there's some stupid STUPID silly shenanigans XD but like, also moments that legit made me cry IRL >_> and I rarely cry at games/movies. It's kinda like a good anime - stupid silly shit but also legitimately heartfelt and earned dramatic moments.

Yesss! Ttrpg's will do that to you! I feel like I live the moments, the good, bad, hilarious, touching, and heartbreaking. I can't count all the times my character (he's my first dnd character, and still in the same campaign 3 years ongoing!) has done silly dumb things. XD He's been the comic relief for a while but also has had a lot of heartbreaking things happen, including a full reformation from chaotic evil to neutral good. I have cried so many times lol. Man, so much fun.

lol annoying chaos gremlin. Both my character and the barbarian are a bit like that (it doesn't help we both have Int 8 XD) - our "smart" companion is like, "You can't be ALL chaos ALL the time!" but we're gonna just do what we're gonna do, lol.

Well, there was the time I made said smart companion dress himself down as a slutty man-slave so he could seduce some guy as part of a convoluted bet XD It was basically the Final Fantasy 7 Cloud cross-dressing bit and it was the most fun ever XD
On one of my earliest quests, I took part in this primal supernatural animal event because I wanted the legendary reward. I was warned multiple times to be careful, as the powerful supernatural nature of it would be easy to lose one's self in. Now, I'd ALREADY WON the reward I wanted, but instead my character knowingly went and kept going, anyway XD Her Intelligence dropped to 2 and became unplayable XD and her friends had to then go on a quest to try to recover her mind XD Once the proper help was recruited, she'd basically mind-melded with the living animus of the Realms, and had to do like an internal battle thing to win her mind back :V On the plus side, got my sweet reward, and also from the meld I influenced all the animals of the Realms to be more friendly XD
