Eala Meets Shizaaraa
Per some prior RP, Skurl helps Eala gain an audience with the Great and Terrible Mother of Scales herself, Shizaaraa. Better find that opal, my friend.

*internal thoughts*
Thou art certain the Scalemother hath her own affinity with the White One?
It - it was the first pleasantry that sprang to mind -
Then gather thy thoughts with more zeal. How apt must 'Great and Terrible' be sounding, dost thou think?
*panic rising* We'll both find out just how 'terrible' it is when it starts dropping from under my tail!

Shizaaraa: *crosses one massive clawed hand over the other and settles back* Indeed, my Farsight has seen your surprisingly numerous meetings with the gentlest Finger, Champion. It is good to know that I am still in her good graces. *eyes you expectantly, eyes falling on your medallion when the sun catches it*
Skurl: *clears his throat politely and steps forward to allow you a moment to collect yourself* Well met, Scalemother. How long has it been since we have spoken face to face?
Shizaaraa: *not taking her gaze from you* At least half a century, dear Windlord. Magicks know much more recently than the Elder Sire has deemed necessary... *exhales a faint stream of smoke from her nostrils* tell me, is that why you have arranged this meeting?
Skurl: *uncomfortably* That, among other things...

*aloud*
Hail to thee, Scalemother. In veritas, thy renown be not unfounded; mineselves hath neverfore beheld a figure of such stature nor so imposing, not even whence we made battle with the Storm.
*internal*
There now, Becalm the urge to bolt, lest I do so for thee,
*somewhat hurt at being upstaged* If you felt I couldn't handle it, why did you wait before intervening?
Why, to test thy resolve towards a personage of such scale, that I hath witnessed and found wanting. Hast thou not met such a being before?
You know I haven't. Our collective race memories are open to both of us, and dragons just aren't a thing in my old world. *mental exhale* Still, I should be grateful for the lesson, that after half a century of this I can still be taken aback. Overconfidence and complacency would be the doom of us both.
Normalcy whence accustomed to what beith otherwise 'abnormal' wouldst stagnate the imagination and speed of thought. Heed well thine own teachings.

Shizaaraa: *shifting slightly* Your words are appreciated, as I hold great respect for The Storm. And, as I know that in your time spent with two minds in the world unseen to mortal men has been comparatively brief, I shall allow such tribute to stay tradition’s hand… for a few moments longer, at least.
Skurl: *under his breath* I do hope you have brought a more physical tribute to present the Scalemother? It is proper to offer it as early during one’s first meeting as possible. *steps once again into the fray* I fear I have not properly introduced our Ambassador to draconic customs, Great Mother.
Shizaaraa: *drawing herself up to her full height* So it would seem, dear Windlord. *lifts a ridged brow* You have taken it upon yourself to intercede for him. Have you a piece of hoard to offer in his stead?
Skurl: *feathers ruffling uncomfortably* I… er… not on my person…

Hast thou taken leave of thy wits, or had them afreared out of thee? The opal, fool! Relinquish it!
*panicked* Don't rush me, don't rush me! Lord, she's so... big... have to think - the White One's opal, where did I put it? What did I do with it?
Dost thou not recall? Thou had mineself secret it away in a private elsewhere within the nethersphere. Witholding yon whereabouts hath kept the jewel doubly secure, lest entrapment or ensorcelment be employed upon thy public side of our thoughts in coveting it.
*closes eyes, slow deep enhale, continues with unheard mental back-and-forth...*
WHY ARE YOU ONLY TELLING ME THIS NOW!
A simple query would hath sufficed.
You - are you getting some kind of perverse kick putting me in harm's way today? What am I supposed to have done to warrant THIS?
Tush - as if one wouldst indulge in such shallow fancy.
THEN WHAT -
Since thou art wilfull in taking matters into thine own hooves without mine own judgement, 'tis but scarce an effort to maketh thou aware that a free agency doth not equate toward acting on one's own behalf. I shall believe thou wilt retain such in thy reasoning this time.
Oh for the love of - whatever, we'll talk this over later. Just - just let me have the opal. Please.
As thou wish.
*opens eyes, the opal appears in the air a distance in front of my upward gaze...
*aloud, with a slight hesistant cough* I... trust this offering will meet your approval, Great Scalemother?

Shizaaraa: *Gingerly takes the opal between her claws, examines it with slightly dilated eyes, and sends it away to her hoard with a flash of lavender energy and a smile. She resumes her lounging pose and glances toward Skurl. She begins to laugh* Magicks, Windlord! The look on your face! With all the years between us, did you truly think I would hold you to such a thing?
Skurl: *chuckles, shamefaced* Forgive me, Scalemother. As our esteemed Ambassador says, you have a talented for intimidation.
Shizaaraa: *turns to you, smile still on her face* Your tribute is more than acceptable, Ambassador. Rest your mind and make yourself comfortable. I much prefer the taste of shark to unicorn. Please. *she opens her hands* To what do I owe this visit?

Strange. What ill portent be this that of a sudden hath mineself sharing thine discomfort?
You were basking so much in your own high-and-mightiness, you missed the implication that she's eaten unicorn before.
*glances aside towards Skurl, diplomatically deferring to the one with experience to formally start the conference.

XD There’s a reason she’s called the Great and Terrible Mother of Scales.
She actually seems amiable. Though... you don't want to try her patience.
You’ve read her exactly right! She’s much more diplomatic than most other dragons.
*Sits leaning back a bit*
Hello, um big. It's a big, I-I mean a tremendous honor to make your acquaintance.

Shizaaraa: *grins a toothy grin* A graceful dodge, little fox.
Shizaara! I missed seeing you, Scalemother! *Grins with sharpening teeth*
Shizaaraa: *smile broadens* Little dragon! Well met. How have you been? You have eluded my Farsight for a long time.
Here and there. I sadly lost a family member recently, and now the house where I live is also being sold. It's been an interesting week helping to pack things and prepare for the next steps of putting it up for sale. And I get to look for a new home in the meantime. A proper den, if you will.
And, of course, there are the occasional passings through time to speak with those who need to hear what perspective one such as I might offer, limited though it may be. It was good to get to know the scalefather when he was in his prime, though it is still sad what happened to him.
