Corrupted File Archive: X-Terion
Log #2
Target: X-Terion
Ahh, I see you seek more knowledge of these strange entities within files. Lucky for you, I have dozens of them ready to share.
This particular anomaly was first recorded by someone by the name of goji_boi, and was found in an old beta copy of Sonic Jam.
Born on the 16th of February, 1970, X-Terion first had his start as a regular human named Johnathan Fitzgerald Michaels, an employee working at SEGA of America. A relatively popular and well-liked guy, he decided to work overseas to help the development of the games he was fond of.
This decision turned out to be deadly.
Through overworking, stress, and fatigue, Jonathan was growing weary by the day. On one fateful night, on the 19th of March, 1996, Jonathan experienced a seizure at the young age of 26, killing him.
When he awoke, he found himself not in any sort of afterlife, but instead in his own copy of “Sonic Jam”, the game he sacrificed his life for.
Luckily, there is hope for the trapped soul.
His daughter, Marilyn, has came across the disk that Jonathan is trapped inside. Should she open the game and reveal the contents inside, then hopefully Jonathan’s final message can be sent, and he will find eternal peace.
X-Terion takes the form of a corrupted version of SEGA’s “Sonic the Hedgehog”. X-Terion’s chest and arms are yellow, his gloves and the cuffs of his shoes are silver, his shoes are now gray with purple stripes, and he wears a purple tie. X-Terion does not have a head, instead having been replaced with a glowing symbol.
X-Terion, when compared to many of the corruptions that we will discuss, is much more relaxed and amiable due to not actively seeking harm against anyone. All he wants is to pass on by finding his daughter.
X-Terion’s main way of communication is through subliminal messaging, as the game that he’s stuck in can’t be changed enough to directly speak to the player.
Should the disc X-Terion is stuck in be destroyed, his soul will transfer to another nearby game. Typically, this will allow X-Terion to gain any unique abilities that the game provides, but at the cost of any unique abilities of the previous game. For example, should he go from Frontiers to Unleashed, he will gain the ability to transform into the Werehog, but lose the ability to use the Cyloop.
X-Terion used to collect Sonic memorabilia during his time in Japan, and he’s quite knowledgeable about the differences between Sonic’s American and Japanese lore.
X-Terion is quite the avid golf player, as he used to play it during his time in college.
Jonathan and his wife, Carolyn, met back in middle school before becoming friends in their freshman year. They were engaged in the 80’s and got married early in the 90’s. Apparently, their first date was at a Little Caesars.
Bread is one of X-Terion’s favorite foods, as it was one of the few things he had to keep him going during his time in Japan.
For obvious reasons, X-Terion is quite weak to flashing lights.
Apparently, X-Terion’s symbol is based off of the series “Ultraman”, though whether or not X-Terion watched the series is unclear.
In general, X-Terion is quite weak when compared to other EXEs.
Anyway, that’s all for this corruption. I may have more at a later date, but until then, I wish you every happiness.
