“C’mon! The supporting act is almost over!” An excited moogle boy dragged his tiger friend to the front of the concert area - right up to the massive stage! The band ‘they might be pretty smol’ was still thanking their audience and packing up some of their instruments as they made their way off the stage - several screens had been placed around the venue to allow the visitors to see the duo of rocking gerbils up close and personal despite the vast size difference.
The moogle, called ‘Moony’ bounced excitedly as he was at the very front of the stage. Which… To be fair, it still felt pretty far away - the stage was absolutely huge - the audience in its entirety could fit onto it - and thensome! His Tiger friend was a little less enthusiastic by the looks of it - or maybe just a bit more hesitant to be so close to the front!
The lights on the stage turned purple and the first notes of the band’s first break-out hit ‘Big shoes to fill’ rang out - accompanied by the yells and cheers from the audience. People had their arms in the air, jumped and… Tried to see the band on the stage! But, aside from a little plastic box the previous band had left behind there seemed to be noth…
“Look! Look on the screens!” exclaimed Theodore, the tiger, suddenly, tapping Moony’s shoulder and excitedly pointing at one of said screens. One of the cameras hanging above the stage had started to zoom in on the plastic box.
Inside the box, lit by a small purple spotlight hanging above, the band was playing - Nimono was spinning one of the drumsticks at he winked and waved at the camera above while the always animated Rakagerl hopped at the front of the “stage”, swinging his electric guitar as the first verse left his mouth and the purple light started to sparkle.
Everyone in the audience held their breath. The two Miyoa were known for their magically infused performances - and starting out at the same size as the supporting act was a rather neat trick already!
The music halted for a moment while Rakagerl grinned at the camera and winked, taking a deep breath for the chorus!
The music seemed to swell, sparkling, magical dust and fog seemed to swirl around them as he continued.
“Now I'm growing, getting taller every day,
I'm stepping up, in my own way.”
The Miyoa passionately proclaimed, all the while his grinning face suddenly filled the entire view of the zoomed in camera! A crack rang out as the plastic box burst apart and revealed the band to the cheering and hollering audience. A swish of magical dust washed over the collected fans as the band rose to their regular height, alongside their instruments.
“I've got big shoes to fill,
But I'll keep climbing up that hill!”
The song choros continued as Rakagerl, with a wide grin, kicked the remains of the box into the audience. A young tiger, who was by now beside himself with excitement, caught the little souvenir, much to the encouraging yelling of his moogle buddy.
Of course, the magical show was far from over. Now that Nimono’s drums had been enlarged, each hit propelled mysteriously swirling and glittering sparks into the air, perfectly synced with the rhythmic footfalls of the lead singer and guitarist, who’s rainbow-coloured guitar strings left streaks in the air that could be compared to a glow stick on a low-exposure camera.
As the band broke into the bridge into the next Choros, the energy in the air was palpable. Moony felt his hair stand up with a strange static in the air, and everyone in the crowd could feel the performance building to… Something!
Theordore looked over to his Moogle friend with a wide grin as they high-fived just to express the electric excitement in the air.
“I know the journey ahead will be tough,
But I'll keep fighting, and never give up.
I'll find my path, and make it my own,
And I'll keep growing, until I'm fully grown.”
Waves of energy seemed to radiate out from the group playing in the middle of the huge stage, and the entire place shook and quaked - to the audience, it felt like they were just there, despite the band still being so far away in the middle of the huge stage.
A smirk and a wink from the two performers, right into the camera mounted at least 30 feet in the air and zoomed in on them was the first indication of something big about to happen when Nimono tossed the two drum-sticks into the air. The camera followed the spinning sticks as close as possible, before they came to a stop in his outstretched paw and smashed down onto the drumhead, crashing the cymbals on their way down.
Immediately, a huge cloud of fog released out from the two performers, sweeping out from them and rolling over the cheering crowd of people below. The song dropped into its final chorus, with the sound and music changing into a deeper, more booming quality. It was as if someone had turned up the bass of the entire band!
“Now I'm growing, getting taller every day,
I'm stepping up, in my own way.”
Rakagerl’s voice rang out powerfully over the crowd, and Moony wondered for a brief moment if it was even coming from the speakers when he felt a tug on his arm.
“L… Look!” Stammered Theodore next to him, pointing at the singer, who had just come back into view. And quite the view it was! His head had broken through the top of the huge fog cloud as he sang his song, the unmistakable ears of the Miyoa sticking out from the fog and swirling it around.
“I've got big shoes to fill,
But I'll keep climbing up that hill!”
The song continued, the rhythmic footfalls now shaking the entire stage as the heavy boots of the singer slammed down on it. As the fog that had obscured the two dissipated with their heavy movements, the sheer sound of their song and magic still surrounded them.
Everyone in the crowd had collectively held their breath up until now - the appearance of towering, 40 feet tall musicians did that to basically anyone. Still, now as the well-known chorus rang out and swept the audience, as they felt the energy of this performance, they couldn’t help but join in as it repeated for the outro.
Hands in the air, the crowd went wild and Rakagerl couldn’t help but interact with them, providing high-fives with at least 15 fans at once and dancing at the edge of the creaking stage, casting a long shadow over the cheering and crowd-surfing fans! He even threatened to attempt to crowd-surf himself, which, at his size, would’ve probably ended badly.
With a laugh and many cheers, the song got extended, but when the last word was said, another wave of fog rolled over the crowd and… Left the two Miyoa at their regular size, bowing happily.
“Thanks for showing up, everyone! I hope you liked it! Please buy our CD, we probably need to pay for some stage maintenance!”

A little vignette that was requested by Nimono - who has a pair of Miyoa that are quite famous for their magical music performances - this one isn't any different, and includes plenty of size-related shenanigans!

This one is so fun! I love how they work the growth into their act and getting to see it from the pov of a concert goer was cool. :)
Thanks a lot! :D The idea only turned into a single little scene, but it was still very fun to write! :D
