Leather ''Household Havoc!'' [Paint 3D Artwork]
Yay! Another picture starring my favorite flying buddy -- the Long-Eared Bat, Leather! This time, he is on a journey through an abandoned wooden tower, located in the middle of the woods at night. Leather is looking for food, but he hasn't found anything so far. The only things he sees are the many loose planks, some dirty furniture, and the occasional broken vase, damaged painting or some dusty household items. The rays of the moon can be seen through some cracks in the walls, and Leather uses these, along with any sound vibrations he might pick up -- which is something natural that most bats do -- in order to locate any flies or other small insects to eat, and if he's lucky, a mouse, which happens to be his favorite food. One could compare a mouse for Leather to, say, crepes or pancakes for humans. Abandoned houses or towers are not his natural habitat to hunt in, per sé, but Leather does find locations like this one to be decently appealing. It is dark enough for him to surprise-attack any small animals when hunting, and the many loose pieces of wood plus the furniture found throughout some rooms inside the tower, for Leather act like little resting spots, where he can rest his tired wings and fangs after a long hunt, and go to sleep when the darkness outside makes way for the light of the morning sun.
Leather still has his scar from the hit he recieved from the Vampire Hunter's iron whip, back at the haunted castle our little buddy used to live in before moving to the woods nearby. But it has been over two months since their encounter, and Leather now views the scar on his left wing as a reminiscence of the battle he partook in, together with the Hunter. A battle against some horribly creepy creatures such as black panthers, ghouls, and opposing bats. Though, Leather long doesn't feel any pain from the hit anymore, as the Hunter apologized for his actions after he hit Leather with the whip, and proceeded to put a part of his cloth that he ripped off, around Leather's injured wing. Together, they then infiltrated the castle in order to find its master, an evil count who was planning on wiping out all of humankind. The Hunter battled the count and proceeded to emerge victorious. Leather also aided in the fight, using his small but sharp teeth to gnaw the thread of a chandelier away. This chandelier then fell right onto the count, and the Hunter with his whip, was then able to deal the final blow. When the two unusual allies fled the collapsing castle and stood atop a cliff nearby, the Hunter thanked Leather and departed, causing Leather to continue his own journey as well.
That was two whole months ago, and Leather has since found shelter inside this enormous building made entirely of thick wood, presumably made from various trees found throughout the dark forest surrounding the tower. He still longs to make a stash of food, though it will be a small one, yet still large enough in order for Leather to make it through the upcoming winter season. When Leather enters a hole where a wooden door was once attached to the wall, he notices a big iron table with some chairs and a chandelier hanging above it. This must be the kitchen! ...or maybe the lounge room? He can't tell. Still hungry, Leather continues his flight through the darkened room. The rays of the moon effortlessly reach the furniture present in this area. The whole place is covered in cobwebs. That's it! Cobwebs! Maybe Leather can find some spiders or other insects to eat!
