Competitive Noms
As Mama explained the rules of the game she came up with, John was relaxing with Wolfy Spino, Josh was relaxing with Douglas, and Floof got bored and jumped back into the lake for a nice swim. She was enthusiastic about the idea, and before finishing her explanation, she asked everyone, "Okay, my children, do you understand the rules?" While the Spinos and John nodded in agreement, Josh was too busy hugging Doug's belly to notice. Mama did notice him, and after a little chuckle, she told everyone, "Alright, I'll quickly explain it again, and I hope everyone, including you, Josh, understands the rules." After clearing her throat, she motioned to the Spinos and said, "You two will have 60 minutes to gobble up as many fish as possible. You are to stay in this lake until the timer runs out, but you can return to the surface for whatever reason. And you are not allowed to use magic to catch your fish or manipulate your bellies' size, especially when we compare them at the end. Whoever has the biggest belly gets to smush the rest of us under his big belly. Are both of you ready?" The Spinos looked at each other before they grinned and nodded at Mama. She smiled as well, and they walked together to the edge of the lake, the Spinos getting ready to jump in, and the humans watched with anticipation for what was about to happen. Mama then stood at the side of them, watching their serious faces watching the fish go by in the lake, and readied herself with her smartphone, which had the timer set and ready to go. "On your mark, get set, RAAAAWWWWRRRR."
The Spinos dived into the water as the competition started, gobbling any fish they could find. They gobbled up big fish, small fish, and catfish, which seemed to meow as Wolfy gobbled them up, to his confusion. As the minutes ticked by, their bellies became larger and larger, filled with the squirming fish unfortunate enough to be in the Spino's path. At the 15-minute mark, Wolfy wanted to show off to the others how much he was getting, so he grabbed a few large fish with his maw and emerged from the water, getting oooohs and aaaahs from the onlookers. Before he had the chance to swallow them, Doug emerged from the waters as well, having a fish as large as his head in his maw, which made Wolfy almost drop his fish in shock. The humans and Indoraptor at the shore were shocked by the size, and even Floof stopped swimming to watch Doug swallow the big fish, his neck bulging as it was sent down into his already large stomach. Doug then looked at Wolfy and giggled as he saw Wolfy's small catch before diving back into the lake's depths to find more.
The event had gone on for 45 minutes, and Wolfy knew that he was losing. Doug kept gobbling up bigger fish than he could find, and he wasn't too hopeful that he could catch up. As he was swimming to the surface for more air, he saw what looked like the biggest fish he had ever seen, just swimming at the surface. His Spino face grinned as he approached it, and when he was right under it, he readied himself and started to swim as fast as he could, ready to catch his meal by surprise. Meanwhile, Mama and her human children were talking at the lake bed, joking around about how big they think their Spino bro's bellies will be by the end, and a certain feathery Utahraptor swimming in the lake, watching a large fish swim up to him. Floof was happy to see it and about to try and pet it, but when he looked down, he saw some large, hungry jaws from below rising up to meet him. He was frightened and about to scream, but all at once, he and his new fish friend were snapped up by those jaws, and all the blue Spino thought about was how lucky he was to catch a big one in his maw and proceeded to swallow it triumphantly. The loud snap made everyone on the shore look over to the waters and see the big Spino's grin, and they smiled and waved at him. Wolfy was happy to see them, and after licking his lips to tease them, he submerged back into the water, so he could get a few more fish before the event ended.
One minute remained to the event, and since Wolfy snapped up that fish earlier, Mama and her humans had yet to see either of them. Mama looked at her phone's timer and saw that only a few seconds remained, so she looked at her children, and once the timer hit zero, they all roared as loud as they could, marking the end of the fish-eating competition. Once they ended their roar, with John having to take a moment to catch his breath as he was still not used to roaring like Mama and Josh were, they saw Doug and Wolfy's heads emerge from the water. They all smiled and beckoned them over, but none on the shore had expected the massive bellies the Spinos had. They were crawling onto land, their legs unable to reach the ground. After they waved and tried to climb to shore, their bellies got stuck on the coast, the pressure making them loudly burp as the air within their bellies was pushed up their throats. Everyone giggled at their burps, and Mama and Josh had to help them up to shore, where they measured their stomachs to see who won the competition. While Mama was measuring Wolfy's belly, she noticed a familiar indent in his belly, and when she used her magic to see within, she giggled as she saw that Floof was mixed in with the fish. Chompless was wondering where he was, but she didn't want to spoil everyone's fun, so she cast a spell to ensure he would be safe in his belly even when the fish around him got digested. She then continued her measurements, and after checking and double-checking her measurements, she stepped back from the big-bellied pair and announced the winner. "Alright then. The winner of the fish-eating contest is... Both of you. You both have the same-sized bellies, so you both win the grand prize. Hehehe" At that, the Spinos bros looked at each other and grinned, ready to have some exciting belly fun with their friends. Mama then led her two human sons between the Spino pair, and after Mama gave the OK, the Spinos used their tails to push their fish-filled bellies into the rest of their family. To the Spinos, it felt extraordinary to have his family squished against their bellies. To the humans and Indoraptor, it felt amazing to be squished against such warm and comforting bellies. And to Floof, he didn't mind being in Wolfy's belly as it was a nice place, and the digesting fish didn't bother him either. The Spinos relaxed for hours, happy to have eaten so much fish, and they couldn't wait for a rematch, so they could see who was the best gobbler of tasty fishes.
