I was enamored by the idea of this commission when I saw the premise: extreme close up of chibi eyes. Once it was completed I found that the piece offered two different experiences, each depending on the resolution. Viewing this as a thumbnail, like how FA renders it, it looks like a clean and direct representation of somefurson's eyes. There is a little shading in the piece, particularly below Edwin's right eyebrow (which cannot be seen in the left due to his spot). That and the shading and gradation of blue within the eyes gives the piece a surprising feel of depth. Viewing this at its native resolution, 1500x500, you will find that the lines for the eyes are made up of an unique splotchy brush strokes. It is almost as if the brush was a series of circles which appear darker the longer the brush lingers in one place. It gives the lines a lighter feel, almost impressionistic. An entirely different feel from how it is shown in the thumbnail.
Detail = well shy of Some. I would not expect more from an extreme close-up of a chibi, let us be honest! The light shadowing is a nice touch.
Shape & Borders = Slightly Soft, Round Lines. This was difficult to rate due to resolution factor mentioned above. I rated this based on the native resolution, so the overlapping circles gave the eyes and eyebrows a softness. By contrast, many of the borders are clearly delineated.
Anthro type = Anthro. Incredibly difficult to rate this as we have minimal information to work off of. The hare nose is the only reason this is an Anthro opposed to a near-human.
Furry Art Style Category = Toony.
