The Thordonian Empire would raise more than just a finger to remnant megastructures.
Although it would be all fun and interesting to learn about the past of such a great civilization to have constructed such magnificent structures, this disk is a source of energy. The Thordonian Empire would rather make the central binary star system go supernova and destroy the structure than let it fall into a rival civilization's occupation. Therefore on first discovery it is an immediate race to be the first one to set up the system wide defense grid, or be prepared to be the first to set up a siege blockade. Whether the disk is won or not, quadrillions of individual consciousness from all clashing forces will be berthed to run combat machines and die when they are killed or their purpose comes to end. Alas, all these lives will be concluded with an act of capital glory and honor or extraordinary failure and vain struggle. Such is interstellar warfare.
The warship in the foreground is of the thordonian Imperial navy. Slightly larger than it's battlecruiser counterpart, the siegecarrier's purpose as a warship is to provide a slightly larger statistical chance of success, but also to provide a large amount of raw material to be used in the production of munitions and thordonian combatant constructs. Its type name reflects its usage in blockades, both planetary and stellar.
