LadySnakebite and I"ve had to edit out the fash symbol on the flag he"s tearing up. It seems the previous version upset the FA staff. This version is edited to remove it. But the idea is still clear, I think.

Might be the sleep deprivation but without context it looked like a pro-imperialist brit ripping up a flag symbolizing communism...
Unfortunately FA moderation doesn't want to have the artwork depicting the confederate flag on the one being torn up, so that was edited out. As for the imperialist overtones of the background, they were unintentional. I tried to edit in the three arrows flag instead, but my skills weren't up to the task.
The original idea was, following the nazi march in Charlottesville, the message of "We over here fought nazis before, we'll stand with the US to fight them again now". The implications you mentioned were not intended, but they were still present nonetheless and I recognise them.
