Many, many years ago when I used to live in North Dakota I would love to dig tunnels in the snow drifts. Hell, I would still love to do that but don't snow like that here in North Carolina.

Concord, New Hampshire... the 1992 Christmas Day snowstorm.

A beautiful scene to look at out our living room window as we unwrapped presents. Snow up a little past my nine-year-old-knee. The central clearing in our cul-de-sac-- always made into a huge premade fort by the city plow's steering of snow onto it-- with towering white walls to scale, play on top of, tunnel into or paw packed 'boulders' of snow out of.
My first Christmas as a Trekkie, getting ST:TNG action figures of important character and races I'd not even heard of yet. And of course, my aunt's yearly gift of a Hess truck.

Good times.

First time I took my Husky up into the Sierra Nevada mtns., during winter (very near to 'Donner Pass.' Yes, THAT 'Donner (Party)' site, he did exactly this from the side of the road, into a snowbank.
He literally *VANISHED,* tail and all! Came flying outta that hole so fast I thought he'd leapt outta his hide! It was hilarious, his first encounter with snow!
