New OC created for the Ocean AU, that I've been doodling on over the holidays. This one the best art of her so far.
Her name is Lacey, she's a betta based mini siren who has lived her life in captivity for a human's private collection. Which is highly illegal in-universe, as sirens are a protected species.
Although kept rather healthy she's not living under the best conditions. Not enough space and no company for what is a member of a very social species. The holes and rips in her fins are caused by her own teeth and claws in neurotic frustrations, having no idea what she's missing and why she feels miserable.
She'll eventually be discovered and rescued to be put through the long process of rehabilitation. Until then, this sketch shows one of the tricks she's been taught to do, for show.
