From the anime “Kashi no ki Mokku/Saban’s Adventures of Pinocchio”. This illustration takes place shortly after Pinocchio became a real boy on Christmas, Geppetto celebrates New Year’s Eve with his family, Pinocchio his now human son, Gina his adoptive daughter, Charlie the Mouse who always lived with Geppetto, Chick the Stork Prince who Pinocchio raised to be his little brother before letting him return to his parents, and Jack and Willy former enemies of Pinocchio now friends and honorary family members. I even decided to include Cricket in this scene. They’re all gathered around a campfire gazing up at the Star the Oak Fairy became after she granted Pinocchio his wish. I made this in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Tatsunoko Pinocchio anime series this year.
