During a particularly harsh winter during the holidays, Hiccup got a bit worried about his dragon companion so he let him stay enclosed with him and the rest for the duration of the blizzard, which they know could take even a few days. So, to make sure the cabbin wouldn't get filled with dragon "waste", Hiccup took some preventive measures and Toothless didn't seem to mind that much or at all.

The only thing Hiccup couldn't figure out is how to stop the feline-esque creature from messing with the holiday decorations.
