Tails was flying over the ocean, heading back to his old workshop on Angel Island. When all of a sudden, something came up on radar and it seemed to be an undisclosed energy signature.
Tails:"Hmm, this matches one of the energy sources Eggman uses for his mechs, but strangely different, as the signatures seem to be higher than normal on most Egg-bots. I should check this out."
Deciding to take a detour, Tails flew his plane over to an island he doesn't seem to remember either him, Sonic or any other of their friends have gone to. Landing his plane, he decided to explore when he recognized certain moss-covered canisters with a familiar insignia.
Tails:"Eggman! He was here. Yet, these canisters look outdated, not to mention untouched for a long time. I guess the good doctor abandoned this place a long time ago."
Taking out his Miles Electric Tablet, the Fox continued to trace the energy signature around the island. Any technology that seemed to have been left behind was either deactivated...or trashed, given the remains of destroyed swat-bots, egg-pawns and moto bugs everywhere. Something destroyed all the mechs, or maybe someone.
Tails:"The energy signature seems to be coming from...over there."
The trail led to what looked like an old warehouse made entirely of corrugated metal, yet covered in moss and plant-life, but still had the Eggman insignia on it. Tails feels as if he should contact the rest of his friends so that they could look into this together, but he came this far, and well, curiosity was getting the better of him. Deciding to head inside on his own, Tails wanted to be prepared for everything as he pushed the doors out of the way and walked inside the warehouse. Inside, it was much bigger than the outside made it look, as it looked to be a quarter-mile long, and the only source of light was coming from the open doors and from the small holes in the roof. The place was filled with shelves and metros that had what appeared to be many individual pieces of various armors. No metal limbs, motherboards or anything that looked like it was part of a robot's chasse, just bits and pieces of armor. Some big, some small, most of them in blue, red, purple, orange and silver colors.
Tails:"Hmm. Eggman must've used this as some kind of storage unit for whatever projects he must've scrapped."
He got a closer look at one piece of armor, a metal boot to be precise with a slick silver design and with a thruster built into the back of the cab. The moment he tried to touch it, however, the thruster activated and spewed a blue flame out for five seconds before deactivating. Tails bounced back the moment that happened and gave it one last look before continuing forward.
Tails:"Weird. Some of these pieces look to be in mint condition. With all this, Eggman could have one heck of an army! So then...why would he leave it all here?"
And that's when his attention was turned to something at the far back of the warehouse. It appeared to be a robot of some kind, perhaps a metal endoskeleton that was about the size and shape of Sonic. Its design was almost reminiscent of the robot, Emerl, from head to toe, but lacking the details and accessories the original Gizoid had. It was a simple gun-metal gray in color, and looked to have had LED lights augmented inside its person, and one thing that stood was scratched off the Eggman symbol on its forehead. It stood idly by on a platform, motionless and inactivated. Tails stood what felt like a safe distance as he looked at the robot with interest and wonder.
Tails:"Hmm. This appears to be the only robot in the building. All these metals, one bot. What was the point of hiding all this, Eggman?"
Just as he tried to take a small step forward for a closer look, Tails heard the sound of the droid powering up on its own, as blue lights within its body and in its eyes began to turn on and glow brightly. The two-tailed fox was startled and took a few steps back as it saw the robot come to life. It was looking straight at him, and Tails could sense that it was not happy.
Tails:"Uh-oh."
Raising its arms, the robot began to walk Frankenstein style over towards Tails, forcing the young fox to go on the defensive side as he saw the robot closing in. He moved back when it tried to grab him in its metal hands and this made Tails retaliate.
Tails:"Get away! (spin attack)"
Sweeping his tails at the robot was enough to make it fall off its feet and fall down. Tails looked at it as it seemingly powered down.
Tails:"Huh. That was easier than I thought."
However, this caused Tails to drop his guard as the robot suddenly got back up. But instead of trying to attack Tails like the first time around, it stretched out its hands in a t-pose as around the warehouse, blue, thin-metal pieces of armor began to activate with blue lights glowing what sounded like thrusters humming and coming to life. Tails moved back as what happened next was unexpected to him. The armor pieces came and formed around the robot, fitting into its designated places, from head to toe. Now the robot was all suited up in thin, blue metal armor, along with a metal helmet and faceplate, with a singular spike on top of its head, similar to Emerl. Instead of the Frankenstein walk it did before, the robot now marched towards Tails before bringing up its fists in a boxing stance.
Tails now found himself forced to dodge left and right hooks coming his way before the robot decided to simply send its foot into Tails' chest, kicking him into one of the shelving units. Getting a little desperate, Tails grabs a darker blue metal gauntlet and throws it at the robot, only for it to be knocked away as the robot marched towards him. Sending the incoming metal hand, Tails cartwheels to his left and begins to retreat, but being inside a warehouse, there weren't that many places to go. He looked back and saw that the robot was now running after him and pretty fast too as he dashed into another isle of shelves.
Tails:"That speed almost makes him as fast as Sonic was back when we were kids."
Not paying attention in front of him, Tails bumped into something which turned out to be the robot, who grabbed him by the shoulders and pinned him against the metros. Holding the fox with his left arm, the robot held up his right fist and began trying to punch Tails. But even as he was pinned, Tails was still able to dodge left, then right, before ducking a long hook punch then managed to get out of the robot's grip as it tried slamming his fist on him when he was down. It was then that Tails saw the exit ahead, but also realized that he could allow this robot to get loose if it was already this dangerous.
Tails:"He's too strong for me, but maybe not as smart. At the right, a concentrated energy ball should short him out, or at least stun him. Then I can use my mecha-hook to do some damage."
The robot was closing in, just as Tails was at the door. Moving as fast as he could, Tails brought out his energy ball launcher and sent a hot one right at the robot. It actually did stun it, as electricity coursed around its body, causing it to short-circuit. Then Tail brought out his old Mecha-Hook invention, which launched its spring around the fox before the boxing glove attached at the end was sent right at the face of the robot, which made it fly away from the Fox as pieces of its armor began to come off. It landed hard on the floor as the blue, thin metal armor came completely off into pieces around the floor. Tails stood there, panting exhaustively as he looked at the now downed robot.
Tails:"(Panting) Wooh...Glad that's over."
He turned around and was about to walk back to the Tornado...when he heard a familiar humming and saw that the robot was reactivating again. The blue lights turned again as Tails saw the droid rise, its endo skeleton not looking even the least bit damaged. Raising its arms again, the robot made now a red, heavier looking metal armor began to build around it. The spike on its head came off, replaced with a sleek, short, metal mohawk as the red of the head was covered in a red metal helmet. The rest of the armor was mostly red, gold and silver from head to toe, and even had what looked to have been guns mounted onto the armors. With its new armor completed, it turned its attention towards the Fox once more.
Tails:"Oh, you have got to be kidding me."
Now prepared for what comes next, Tails was caught off guard by the robot activating thrusting at its feet and grabbing him by the chest with a giant, armored hand. It flew straight up into the sky and began to send punches at Tails, which he couldn't dodge before slamming the Fox back down. Tails was caught in a free fall before ending up rolling and managed to hit a try on impact. Now hurt and weakened, Tails struggled to recover, as he couldn't even get back on his feet.
Tails:"(grunting) ...Ow."
The robot landed in front of the wounded fox, and looked down at him and Tails shielded his face, desperately trying to block what was coming next. But much to his surprise, the robot merely stared at him for a moment before turning around, as if no longer looking at him as a threat.
Tails:"Well...that was weird. Ugh. Gotta get back home...warn the others."
The robot made it over to the beach, seeing the vast wide ocean ahead of him. Activating its thrusters at its feet and ones that came from its back, the droid took flight and began heading towards any sort of civilization that was ahead. And the only one ahead...was where Sonic and his friends lived.
Tails:"Hmm, this matches one of the energy sources Eggman uses for his mechs, but strangely different, as the signatures seem to be higher than normal on most Egg-bots. I should check this out."
