This one has a very intriguing story when it comes to creation. Wanting to draw a diesel freight scene to go with the passenger one I had already created (and the fact that both the Polar Express and Steam Freight pic work better together), I decided to ask a friend for help with what was the most popular diesel freight unit made by Lionel. He responded by saying the Santa Fe units was the one. There was one problem. I have already drawn a picture of that unit for the passenger train. So, I decided to use a concept made by printing error; the BlackBonnet. Long story short; the ad for the then very new F units made a mistake with the coloring on the Santa Fe units being black instead of silver. With this in mind, I decided to make a scene around this concept and it has become a beautiful snow scene. It does help that the cars following it are based on Post-War Lionel models. Anyway, this is one pic I'm certainly happy to complete.

Being a Canadian modeller there are no shortage of "misprints" whether in the artwork or on the actual model (re: Tyco CP F7, Bachmann Via F9). I love this concept of yours.
Yeah, and the short "Canadian stainless" cars. Tri-ang wasn't available when I came around. (My first model train was the Tyco F7.)
