Something i started doodling for a social media post about Twitter hitting an iceberg and i just ended up coloring it. i don't know if Twitter's gonna survive the Muskrat and if so in what form, but for all of its hellsite qualities, it's a place where i made a ton of new friends i would never have met otherwise, connected with other artists and swapped fan-art, learned about people and experiences completely unlike my own, and found the vocabulary to understand and explore my own gender expression and sexuality. It could be a deeply depressing place, but some days, it was a lifeline to encouragement and sympathy when i struggled with my own mental health. It provided me with up-to-the-minute news updates from eyewitnesses and journalists i came to trust during summer 2020, let me know how i could help other furs in need, and gave me a way to yell at people in power that actually stood a chance of them seeing it.

i don't know where we go from here, and hopefully something else will take its place if the billion-dollar dork destroys it, but even if no one else misses it i'll always be glad for what treasures i found hidden there
