Although Evan came to be recognized as a genius, all of the bullying he had endured throughout his childhood had turned him into a misanthrope who held a deep mistrust towards humanity. As such, he kept most of his inventions and major discoveries to himself. This may have been a good thing, as Evan at this time started to go through his father's notes on Remnant, and began to conduct his own research on it (albeit without murdering anyone). Although this is technically not a family photo, this was taken while Evan and Mangle lived in his university dormitory.
