This was a sketch done for quickxyk of his coyote character riding a cactus beast
Lets just say its a bit of a rough ride. Watch out for those needles!

Needles be damned, I hope that boy isn't covered in glochids x.x
Love all the details in this it's such a fun piece. And I might be slightly biased :)
This is incredibly creative, but I'm more concerned about that coyote, because any guy that can ride something like that, would be a whole problem.
Wow! It appears Coyote might benefit from a pair of leather chaps and maybe a set of leather bottomed riding pants.
(I was reminded of a series of illustrations popular during the "Southwestern" decorating craze about a coyote chasing a jack rabbit with "Prickly Pear" ears.)

I grew up in the desert, and once stumbled face-first into a cactus -- I can't imagine how uncomfortable this would be XD
That's terrifying.. conjures ponderings of what might happen in the Fallout universe should a nuke hit a Saguaro and prickly pear vegetated area.
I like to say that there are ''honest'' and ''dishonest'' cacti. The honest ones have big clear thorns that you can avoid easily. But then there are the ones with very fine hair-like spikes that you don't even notice till it's too late, those are the worst! Anyway, lovely drawing! Surely caught my attention as I have a lot of cacti around me :)
this is the coolest looking thing ever but also rip
I have sat on a cactus before this would be SEVERELY unpleasant lmao

Amazing, and very creative.
A small distinction: Cactus have spines, not thorns.

What a sticky wicket he got himself into. So many points of contention here.
Poor thing is going to need a crane to pull him off that beast XD
My Mom's uncle could have sympathized. He had a disagreement with a patch of cholla during WWI. Thirty years later, his wife was still plucking spines out of him...
Growing up in Arizona this thing gives me a special anxiety lol.
