A Kirlia Cosplaying as Cosmo the Seedrian

Just a little personal drawing that I've been thinking about doing for a while now. Anyone ever noticed how similar Cosmo (and by extension her entire species, "Seedrians") from Sonic X looks to the Pokémon Kirlia? Well here's a Kirlia (not sure if I'm gonna make her an OC or not; I already have a few unnamed Kirlia OCs that I've barely done anything with) dressed up as the aforementioned character from Sonic X to emphasize that point.
I had done a similar concept drawing of this many years ago but my art skills weren't nearly as good back then so I felt it was time for a redo.

He has a Kirlia maid? I didn't know that. Maybe she could be then. ;3
But then Darkening is Shadow Lugia's maid and the rabbit hole continues deeper
That's in a parallel timeline. https://youtu.be/xP1BQt7IMUc
Oh so you remember Sonic X! I remember it very well and it’s one of my all time favorite anime shows.
I still have the DVD set of the first half of season 3 (the season that introduced Cosmo, the Seedrians and the Metarex.) Honestly while season 1 and 2 were a mixed bag for me, season 3 was nearly perfect. It felt like a spin-off of the first two seasons since the connections were tenuous at most, and felt more complete as a result. It probably should have been marketed as such, like maybe season 1 and 2 were "Sonic X" and season 3 "Sonic Z" or something, but I digress.
What's funny is that apparently the studio who made Sonic X in Japan never intended there to be a third season but the ratings of the dub in North America prompted the dub studio to commission the Japanese animation studio to make a third season from scratch. So we have Cosmo entirely thanks to international marketing.

Yeah. I kinda figured that. I wonder what would happen if there was 4th Season Done for Sonic X with a Sonic X Movie to help celebrate Sonic’s 15th Anniversary in 2006 with the release of Sonic Riders and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 game at the time. Too bad STH 06 had a lot of problems in it.
I'd love a Sonic X season 4 (or "Sonic Z" for branding), but sadly it doesn't seem like SEGA has much interest in continuing that story. Then again I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes at SEGA.
Me too. I’ve been a Sonic fan for a long time and there are fanfics of a Season 4 of Sonic X. One fanfic has the Black Arms arc basically the Shadow the Hedgehog game in anime style. It’s not complete, but I’m sure in the end Shadow faces Black Doom after Sonic and his friends find the recording of Eggman’s grandfather who tells them the true reason of Shadow’s creation. To protect Earth from the Black Arms.
I'm only a casual Sonic fan. I've never played any of the games or read the comics, just watched the cartoons. Particularly Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, SATAM, Sonic: Underground and Sonic X. It's been a loooong time since I've watched the first two however so I barely remember them.
I have a crack fan theory that the Kirlia line and Seedrians are branch-offs of an ancestor species that came to the Pokémon world eons ago. Likewise with the Roselia line, the Lilligant line and the Steenee line.
Indeed. That final closing shot with the potted plant really felt like it was setting up for a "We Are Groot"-scenario but sadly to my knowledge no official Sonic media ever followed up on that.
Oh, for sure! When I saw your drawing, I decided that you had drawn Cosmo. And then I read the description and took a closer look. Heh.
