This is my final project for my Illustration class, it"s...due on Monday. Look, I"m EARLY this time! I"m so proud.
Anyways, these guys were inspired by two one eyed black cats I considered adopting a year or two ago. They were so sweet. >: But it kinda hit me that they would make a neat character concept.

The way the both of them look like one big face at first is cool :D Creative, and creepy-awesome.
I sincerely love this piece so much... it's not the mere painterly quality of it, but the concept. I seriously thought it was once face and at a closer look it's two cats. Really, I'm totally floored, wish I could think up as good an idea haha x3
Wow, excellent concept and colours and layout and everything. There is a sense of surrealism, and I love how the two cats can sort of 'merge' into one horrifying monster face.The colours all work very well too.

Lolllollll now that people are saying that I feel so lame haha. The Little Mermaid isn't necessarily my favorite disney movie...so I haven't seen it since like..what, years ago? I totally forgot about those silly eels.

Lol, I basically shade just like how I paint traditionally. I lay down a general texture color first for the background, then work on top of that in the foreground and work from darkest to light. 0:
Mmm. And if I may ask... usually I don't do this but.. what would the brush presets be?
There aren't any specific ones really, I often change up a lot in between shading. I normally just play with the opacity and flow settings as I paint.

i lost track of a story once that was about a set of twins, each born with only one eye, one had its left, the other its right, and their behavior suggested that they were more accurately what happens when a soul is divided between 2 bodies, though it was a rather violent story... they were bit on the insane side.
