A work in progress of my half of an art trade with  MarcusStarkiller, featuring Corporal Kette' Barona from Chris Grant's "Empires: Ace of Spades" comic.

As "Empires: Ace of Spades" was published in YARF! last century (1990 - 1995 to be precise!), I dug into my twenty-five year old collection of YARF! issues to find additional suitable references, which meant a trip into my attic to find the storage boxes!
"Back in my day, there was no internet to publish comics on. Bought fanzines we did, wait for weeks in postage for package to arrive after sending cash in mail or submitting art for contributor copy... did not have Discord for forums, banged rocks together to make signals on Usenet. Ate rocks too, low nutrition but high in minerals. Grammar not developed in old days, talked like Zathras we did... poor poor Zathras, he was the quiet one..."

So far, I seem to have spent half my time on this picture trying to get the uniform and emblems right - the cap and the associated insignia in particular have had a fair bit of reworking...
