Sea of Thieves can be silly at times. The Chest of a Thousand Grogs especially so. Synal isn't affected by the curse of it, so he's left wondering what happened to the other two and what the barrel-shaped chest did to them.

What did the barrel do to make u drunk or dead asleep
In-game, the Chest of a Thousand Grogs makes whoever carries it extremely drunk and thus movement being fairly tricky to work with. For the pokefloof's case, it's a straight up drunken knockout.
