A bipedal mech with a serpentine visage
Feel your power - rest within yourself
This is... a miss for the aesthetic I was going for - and might not even fit within the Machinara (working title) setting, but the semi-organic looking plating around the chest and neck are a good fit - and the glowing claws might also be.
But I bet a lot of people wouldn't mind being... this

I kinda' wanna' try and make a robot VRC avatar model now haha
this looks so freaking good, I love how it sorta pops out of the screen, theres so much depth. amazing work

It's a little reminiscent of the "Tiger Bee" VRChat avatars - you might have seen one already.
I think it's the similarity in snout- and wing-sizing, as well as the almost insect-like nature of the way the robotic mechanisms.
Either way - I actually really like this, because it has a subtly softer feeling to it! A lightly more friendly facial structure, expression and body language.
It'd be a shame to have the Machinara only some gritty, dark mechanism. They are joined with their operators, so there should be some warm emotions too - a bit like this :)

You're not the first to compare it to Neo's Tiger Bee! I love that avatar so much, but it wasn't an inspiration for this, so the resemblance is accidental!
Mechanisms aside - I think there will be a lot of warm emotions in coming art - I want to focus the setting on what it feels like to be and live as a mech / living robot / operated machine hybrid. Some of the emotions about obtaining a new body with new strengths, or even losing your old body could be very wholesome depending on the prospective operator!

Absolutely!
Certain art related to resolving body dysphoria and finding oneself in a more fitting form is very touching, even for someone who has not personally experienced this kind of emotion.
There are a lot of very fascinating topics to delve in to when it comes to this kind of feeling, and I am quite glad that you are making sure to balance it out!

But right now I think I personally have had enough quick gritty Sci-Fy.

Well, the main downside does seem to be that it's not a particularly pleasant process to go through. And the upsides range from good to awesome depending on the rest of the setting.
Plus it's cute. Never turn down the option to be cute and cool at once.
